a house negro is a black person who develops an emotional attachment, a bond of interdependence with their oppressors(white folks). because they identify w/ their oppressors(yt folks), they do their best to please white people even if it means disowning their own racial identity to the detriment of one’s community and or self.
now Brother X defined a house negro as:

@ Vi
Rep. Maxine Waters said, members of the CBC are becoming increasingly tired and frustrated by Obama’s performance on the issue of jobs. Even as she expressed support for the president, Waters virtually invited the crowd to “unleash us” to pressure Obama for action.
“We don’t put pressure on the president,” Waters told the audience at Wayne County Community College. “Let me tell you why. We don’t put pressure on the president because ya’ll love the president. You love the president. You’re very proud to have a black man — first time in the history of the United States of America. If we go after the president too hard, you’re going after us.” This quote if from the Detroit jobs fair she attended.
I don’t have a problem with her position on the current state of unemployment, I do have a problem with her laying the blame on the president in one breath when she did not stand up and say the same during the last eights years when Bush was in office. Now before anyone says I am stans of the curent president, I do believe he came into office with the country at the bottom of the barrel, and as so is and still will have a hard time pulling us out, an even harder time because the republican party is doing all they can to make sure we are wedged in tight as two dogs stuck together. Maxine Waters does more agreeing with white government than doing her part in helping the president out. Her concerns should be taken to her peers in Congress. If you goggle rants of Maxine Waters against the President you will come up with a library. I believe if you throw a stone, do it because the brick you laid is secured…….
Most of all black hollywood.cause nobody reps for the african american community.

Once again…what makes a person a house negro? Can someone explain

What is a House Negro? The term House Negro comes from slavery…There were three types of slaves…Field Nigger was a slave who worked in the cotton fields & he always wanted to escape he hated his slave master(he was also a Buck)…Then there was a Craftsman slave he took care of the animals and handled all barn duties he was also the type of Nigga to Buckdance…Then there was the House Nigger he took care of the house duties he cooked but never tried to poison his master & he never wanted to escape… matter of fact he would always tell master when the slaves were thinking of revolting….
Nowadays House Niggers are still active. Don’t believe me? Ask Juan Williams from Fox News…

Let me clarify. I know what the term means and appreciate you quoting Malcom. What makes African Americans house negroes in today’s environment. Is it being rich? Being a Republican/Conservative? Is it representing large corporations?
Please elaborate sir.
It seems like many posters here think any Black person that is married to a White woman, a non liberal, or primarily focused on business makes them a coon or house nigger. It seems like any Black that is affiliated with government is one also. Am I correct?

Having a white girlfriend doesn’t make you a House Negro(I love all women of every color)….Being rich doesn’t make you a House Nigger but it’s how you spend your money(Madonna does more for black people than Janet Jackson). What makes a Afro-American a House Negro in today’s environment? Having money & shitting on the 99%. Don’t believe me? Ask Kanye West. Is Being a Republican/Conservative a House Nigger? Most blacks are conservative. Know why? Because most blacks believe in Jesus & hate gays. Don’t believe me? Ask Harold Ford.

Cool mane. That makes sense and I agree. I do think some of your readers just pile on because they don’t like a certain celebrity. Of course guys like Juan Williams, Clearance Thomas, Michael Steele, and Herman Cain frequently go on TV and either directly talk down to Black people or sit next to Hannity or O Reilly while they do it.
I think calling Republican politicians that is a little more touchy. Although I strongly disagree with many of their policies, I think Condi and Powell were the only people with any sense in the Bush admin. Then I see people here calling Obama the the same. Seems like famous people draw ire regardless. of their actions.
I have seen posts here that any major label artist is a coon. You were a major artist when signed to Sony. My concern is more with the people who post than you. I unserstand you are in the industry and lnow how many of these people carry themselves. With entertainers I also am troubled with that label unless truly warranted. Someone like Jay Z who literally killed a distribution deal or Tyler Perry who exploits black stereotypes is merited to take the abuse. But every star doesnt have to meet an expectation of “blackness”.
With the OWS movement many people come here and post about stars questioning their blackness based on their alignment with various bank and the degrees of separation between famous person the corporation and whatever negative things the corporation engages in (funding war, apartheid, child labor, outsourcing of jobs etc.). This is the same crap the GOP ran woth Obama and Rev Wright its tired and ignorant. Then, those same people still buy name brand clothing shoes and electronics which fund the 1%
The ignorant mentality of questioning allegiance to ones race based on their lifestyle is highly detremental and truly apart of the mentacide that the white man has brainwashed our great people with. I like the site JJ and rarely comment but there is a underlying sense of socialism even communism with some posters in addition to intra race baiting.
Just my opinion. Keep doin what you do pimpin!

Lb3,
But I relate to some of the issues dude brings up. These people who allow the Jewish run media to exploit them by allowing cat fights and misbehavior to secure ratings. The Mauri “you are the father” shows to jerry springer and his antics. Bad Girls club, basketball wives, love and Hip Hop, Flava Flav, Chance at Love, and all these other effed up shows which set poor examples for our youth.
I’d rather it be like it was in the early 60′s when black folks were rarely seen on tv. Now the only time we get airtime is when we are arguing fuggin or fighting.
No professional blacks on tv, no no. No black students learning, no dads and moms having positive relationships. It’s alway about some bullshi/.
Man, things have to change!!! Any suggestions?!

I personally don’t watch any of those shows you mentioned. I am not necessarily going to call up and coming actors that end up on stupid TV shows house niggas. Cosby, Freeman, and other great black actors did some trash in their younger days. Reality tv exploits stupidity more than race. The Kardashians aren’t black, Jersey Shore isn’t black. The Wire was an excellent show. Chris Rock recently had a good TV show, BET actually has some decent family shows but of course the ratings are not high.
Tyler Perry, who I mention because he owns his own production company actually has a decent new show on TBS. He also has made a few solid movies but guess what? He makes 3x more money off the Medea garbage mane…I guess it is supply and demand.
People are generally trying to make a dollar including the owner of this site mane and I don’t view myself as the moral police. People have to look in the mirror and account for their actions. Myself included

Some of your points are good. The kardashians, jersey Shore et al are indeed not blacks. however there are shows about white professionals. Where are the black shows which show us in a positive light?
I’ve not seen the new perry production however I saw the movie the characters come from. Is the sister (Smith) still loud, angry, and violent?
Lastly, I’m not attempting to be the morality po po. I do believe that more of our youth and weak minded adults who watch and absorb this trash will end up fighting in school, becoming incarcerated, paying fines, or being killed. Why? Because they believe the actions viewed on these shows is how one should handle conflicts.

I am objective about Obama and understand that he isn’t Jesus Christ, but the guy did turn down the opportunity to be a corporate man and worked on the south side of Chicago with the local community. Apparently that is not enough to satisfy you. He is FAR from perfect but any one that works high up in govt is owned by the elite bankers illuminati etc. That same government employs millions of people for social services education defense and military. So I guess if you are employed by the government o receive any welfare food stamps or unemoployment you are a sell out also. Right?
I guess every black person involved in politics or big business is a house negro in your eyes…I guess no one should aspire to be great or extremely successful because that makes them a sell out. Right? I guess we should all take a vow of poverty. I’m also certain that you give all of your money to the poor and deprive yourself of any luxurious items. I voted for Obama because I genuinely believed in the guy. He broke my heart. You can go against the New World Order but you have to be willing to risk your life. Obviously Obama wasn’t willing to sacrifice for the good of this nation. For the good of this world. Kennedy took that Risk. MLK took that risk. Malcom X took that risk. Ghaddafi took the risk. Pat Tilman was going to take the risk that’s why he was murdered.
Obama didn’t turn down the corporate world. He put himself in one of the highest corporate positions in the world. President of the United States. Then he made every single one of his appointments ex-Wall Street execs & former Federal Reserve criminals. The Rothchilds, Rockefellers, British Royal Family, & Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands a-k-a the New World Order owns him. Therefore he is by far #1

You know who really runs the country. That said if this is the case how is Obama not the biggest house Negro? I also disagree on the “lesser of two evils” way of thinking. Evil is evil. We need to come together as a nation & stop voting for who the mainstream media tells us to vote for. Or voting based on 2 parties that work for the same people. Start voting on principal. Stop voting for career politicians who flip flop. Do some research. Stop watching the bullshit mainstream media.

Actually my response was to Allbenji I guess the thread sets it up that way.
I am not an Obama fan as pointed out in my post. I am actually a conservative and lean to the Republican economic viewpoints while as an African American supporting many of the social issues faced by minorities and backed by Democrats. I don’t care what you post as it is your right to have an opinion and I am glad that we live in a society where differences in opinions are accepted.
I dont know you but I don’t agree with your leftist views which i respect is your option. Even the poorest of have benefited from free market capitalism. And As for your usual tactics of tearing me down personally I expect ignorance and gutter mentality based on what you have presented via your ubiquitous postings and I generally ignore it. I am sure you are very successful at whatever you do as am I. But you are talking to a person that teaches economics at the collegiate and graduate level, a person who has a self funded foundation for local at risk youth, an a person who manages an 8 figure budget for a living. I know what I am talking about and at least have some valid points. I am happy to discuss policies but wont engage in a opticly charged argument about charachter with strangers. Its cowardly and stupid of you to personally attack me as you dont know me. Anyone can get on a keyboard and call someone names and it’s kinda childish.

I read your comment earlier this morning, but, I decided to pass on responding. As I was talking to my editor, I am writing my autobiography, when your comment came to mind. For the lack of better judgment, I am going to say this. If you think that because I won’t go tit for tat with you about what I do and what I have accomplished, then you are sorely mistaken
My father who was an extraordinary man told me years ago that I didn’t have to prove anything to anybody, especially people on the net. He said if you spend time bragging and discussing what you do then, you have not accomplished anything that is the work of a trailblazer or extraordinary. He said your work will speak for you. But, I tell you that is hard to do. I mean not mentioning what I do and what I have accomplished, but, I will continue to hold my peace. He also said that somebody’s got to use some sense. So, I chose to use some sense by not responding to anymore of your comments. For some reason, I don’t know why but, I kind of feel sorry for you. Oh! By the way, nobody can discredit you but, yourself.

You just responded. I listed my credentials because in various posts you have labele me as a Jay Z blogger or a Obama cronie. I’m not some ignorant person as you paint me out to be. I never denigrated your level of education or prowess in any way.
See that’s what you do. My arguments are logical and against your politics not you personally. However because I use facts about free market capitalism to make my points that are realistic and can’t be discredited as false, you can only dismiss me as in ignorant person to make your views look correct
The truth is we are a entitled to our political beliefs. I glad you can express yourself even if I disagree with your opinions. I wish you the best in what you do and am sure you are successful. However the very thought that you have done work to merit a publisher to give you a book deal means you have benefited from capitalism in America and verifies (some) of my points.
Finally you keep saying you won’t dignify a peon like me with a response but then you respond. Jacky and others on this thread responded to my posts and said they disagree with me but I have some decent points. You on the other hand make it personal. If you dot like my posts don’t respond. I have never responded to your postings. It’s always you concerning yourself with mine.
Please mind your business downstream and do your thing if you want to avoid confrontation. Otherwise I will continue to have this academically and politically charged discourse with you which you seem to loathe yet feed into.
Blessings!
