Andre 3000 Punks Big Boi!by Jacky Jasper
They may have once made hit songs together, but now one-half of Outkast seems to not have his former partner-in-rhyme’s back. That’s because despite an invitation to join forces again on a musical project, it appears Andre 3000 has outcast’ed Big Boi from his creative circle — looking to be throwing curve balls in the process.
In a recent Village Voice interview, Big Boi explained that’s because Andre 3000 told him a product endorsement deal is stopping that from happening. The problem is, insiders say Andre 3000 is in fact recording – just not with Big Boi.
Here’s what Big Boi had to say about the situation:
“He could have been on any song he wanted to. I gave the motherfucker about five songs, but I guess he was just too busy.
He said he had to do some Gillette shit. No for real. He said he had some contractual obligations.”
William “Rick Ross” Roberts and Andre 3000 were in the studio over the summer recording the song “Sixteen”. So, if Andre 3000′s contractual agreement with Gillette couldn’t stop that recording session — why did it stop him from recording with Big Boi? That’s simply because it didn’t, and Andre 3000 doesn’t want an Outkast record to be released until he drops his next album. Don’t believe me.. Ask L.A. Reid.
