Beyonce is NOT Black, She’s Mixed…

March 2nd, 2012

Beyonce is Not Black?
Beyonce is currently doing L’Oreal ads for their True Match foundation product, and guess what–Beyonce is reported saying that she is not black rather she is  “African American, French and Native Indian.”

Why are some Afro-Americans ashamed of being black? I don’t know, but next time I see the artist Prince or Phillip Michael Thomas, I’ll ask them.

There is a good article over on TheDailyBeast that break this issue down a little further…

Beyoncé has said many times she’s African-American. She said black first in the ad. For her to acknowledge her other ancestry, it’s nothing wrong with it. I don’t see people get mad at Angelina Jolie for saying she’s part Native American.

    Danny Reply:

Angelina’s mother wasn’t 100% Native American. She just had some Native American ancesty. Has people seen Beyoncé’s grandfather on her mom’s side? He looked like he was probably black and white.

So let me get this straight! Both Bey and I are of the same mix. My family is of the same Creole mix. My mother is mixed and my father is AA. So I too can capitalize on it if only if I scream to the heavens that I am of European, Spanish, and American Indian decent too? I wear no weaves and I don’t have to bleach my skin.
Truth be known, Bey would look like any average woman if she were here where I am in Louisiana. Looks like that come a dime a dozen. IJS.
So I guess my next step is to look for an agent, so I can get this ball on the roll.
Our poor children’s self-esteem will have to continue to suffer. *sighs*

Im from Baton Rouge hey neighbor!!! The truth is every african american is mixed, Obama is a african american.his mom was american his father is an african. The slaves bloodline is mixed with so many other races my last name is doucette. My father looks pure white but he says that he’s mixed with downtown and 7th ward he’s from New Orleans my mothers maiden name is Couillon she looks latin her family is from all over lousisana. My grandmother on my moms side is a beautiful chocolate woman my grandfather looks like a spanish speaking man. We consider ourselves black but if we broke our ancestry down well my dads mom had a french grandfather and a native american grandmother. My mom says most of her family are Houma Indians (native americans) and haitians but her dads family is from panama. our eye color hair color and skin tone ranges from lilly while to milk chocolate. Beyonce’s mom is a creole its not a color its a culture of mixed blood lines traditions and languages. Many people from lousiana are creoles. the white man see us as ni99as but if we all had to break down our families starting from your moms great grandma you’d be surprised what you’d fine out about yourselves. Slaves blood is so diluted many african americans will never know what tribe or country we actually came from. Don’t turn this into someone doesnt want to be black. There is another race in names like Knowels Beyenci and Derion. There is a reason why african americans come is so many beautiful flavors Black being the alpha color in the various shades but its not a bad thing to learn where your family name comes from. White people do it All the time they proudly shout that they’re irish italian american or german and canadian they rep the different mix on them to. not cause they hate just saying what but in honor of their family tree. please people dont turn this into silly mess no desendant of a slave is 100% african. JLo is a Puerto Rican her people are from puerto rico get it?

The brown bag test is still alive and well in the Boot! I guess Beyonce made this claim because her mother is from New Orleans and her father is from Georgia. Being from Baton Rouge with family ties in New Orleans, certain members of my family have made off handed comments about darker skin color and I had to correct them on the spot. These are the same family members who have a sibling passing as a white woman. Give Beyonce a pass, I think she is being used as a scapegoat.

Bon jour! Where Yat?I’m naturally Naw’lins, by way of Lafayette, New Roads, Port Allen, Alexandria, Morgan City, Slidell, Minden, and Baton Rouge, La. just to name a few. My roots here in La. goes deep and for many many generations. And as far as I know even being from a Creole family like mine, most of us were considered black, due mostly to having even the smallest of black bloodline and of being related to another black [dark skinned] relative. Even when my Grandmother was considered Mulatto, it too had references to being…black.
Maybe if she existed many generations ago, her point could be well received. But being that the majority of any black family that has been in American since the early centuries, more than likely doesn’t have a pure blood race line of just being black. I have a friend from Africa who is light skinned and who’s Great, Great, Great-grandma was raped. Everyone else was born with dark skin, but years later she would reveal this trait. So, even there in Africa you can find blacks who share more than one race bloodline.
One more thing…Why is it that we [blacks] are so in a hurry to claim the others, yet they never do the same? If anything they hide it until their deaths. IJS.

I am African-American and my ex-husband is Creole. He is from Lafayette, Louisiana. I have brown skin while my ex can practically pass for white. Our son is very light skinned. People always ask him about his nationality. I tell him all the time that he is black. He gestated for 9 months in a black woman and his father embraces being black. My son, on the other hand, always tells people he is of mixed race heritage. I am so proud to be black and I want him to tell people he is black. I guess he is suffering from the same ailment as Beyonce. I sure wish someone would find a cure because I want my son to drown in his blackness and embrace it like our ancestors did.

    [Reply]

    cocoadelight Reply:

that’s really sick, actually. Your son is acknowledging his mixed heritage bc that’s what he is. Forcing him to claim and identify as black is stupid and weird. In order to be a well rounded person, you should acknowledge all of you and not just a part of you. This is why mixed race kids are so confused. (too dark to be white, too light to be black). It’s got nothing to do with self hate. Expose him to both cultures/races, and let him decide what it is he wants to identify with.
    *drops mic*

    [Reply]

    cocoadelight Reply:

and another thing, why are black people the only race that are forced to ‘unite’ and be of one culture/nation etc. No other race is forced to do this. White people claim all kinds of cultures, nationalities, ethnicities. Proudly. Stop dogging black people for doing what every other race can (and already do) do.

    [Reply]

    bread1975 Reply:

Black American people still do that because they think the racist One-Drop rule is still in effect, that states that if you have one blck anscestor you are just black.

    [Reply]

    hali Reply:

That one drop rule does not exist its not even a law anymore the law was dropped in the 60’s by a black female lawmaker. So stop making excuses, I am mixed and I let people know that there is no shame in it.

    Tammara Reply:

You sound like a mixed-nut! It’s no one’s fault that your parents made you mixed. Her son IS black! So is Beyonce. She claimed in 2008 in “ELLE” magazine that “WE are African-American, and we stick together as a family.” These were her words with her mother present. Mixed people don’t want anyone who looks similar to them claiming their blackness, because they’re afraid others will view them as black–and they don’t want to be black, most of them think they are better than black people. If you want to be black, be that. And whites do stick together, as do hispanics and asians!

    [Reply]

    Ley Reply:

I feel so sad for black people. Underneath all that pro-black mentality is deep insecurity, sadness, and deep-seeded feelings of inferiority. The fact that you feel like you have to force other people to say that they are black and get upset if someone speaks of their mixed ancestry proves that.

If you were happy to be black and content with being black you wouldn’t care what someone else calls themselves. Your son does have a mixed background and he should be allowed to acknowledged that. You wouldn’t be so threatened by people who acknowledged their mixed backgrounds if you were truly happy being black. It bothers you so much because deep down you feel like being black is bad and being black is less than. It’s the whole if I have to be black you have to be black too. If I have to carry this burden, this shame, you have to carry it too. It’s very sad. I hurt for black people.

    [Reply]

    Tammara Reply:

Actually, it’s her son who has the issues. He’s fallen prey to mixed people who are telling him he is not black. I meet mixed race people like this all the time. If her son has a black father and mother he is black. Mixed people are telling him he is mixed because they look similar to him and if he embraces his blackness THEY are the ones who are afraid someone is going to identify them as black. It is they (mixed people) who are the problem. They don’t want anyone telling them they’re black, but they think they have the right to go around telling other people what race they are. There is a move to “X” out the black factor. And I’m black and proud of it. I’m not going to let anyone lessen who I am to make them feel secure about themselves, people try to tell me that I’m mixed, and I WILL NOT be labeled as such; I am black and I am wonderful!

INTERVIEWER: No, what I want you to say is…

    DICKEY: (crickets)

INTERVIEWER: But what about Grace Jones and black women that don’t alter their appearance?

DICKEY: Well aesthetically, the difference being Beyonce has light skin and can easily pull off lighter hair, whereas Grace Jones is chocolate brown and an icon in her own right. How can you possibly lump all of our beautiful shades of people, into dark and light? Unfortunately the U.S. is a very young country, with it’s recent past with Jim Crow which did not officially end until 1965. So our legacy of discrimination, violence and segregation from one ethnic group to another is still a reality for many people.

INTERVIEWER: (interrupts) No, what I want… I’m trying to say…

    DICKEY: (crickets)

INTERVIEWER: I mean how do you think people feel about her representing those types of images?

DICKEY: Those heated discussions are always at the surface. My belief is that with the help of mainstream media, TV, social media and print editorials, if we can start to simply give an honest and accurate depiction of how diverse this country and our world really is, it would cut down on the controversy over artists like Beyoncé and her global appeal. We live in a world where beauty is still shopped for in ethnic and non-ethnic aisles. So every day, we are still segregated, marginalized and marketed to based on the usual suspect black and white or light and dark. I think we have a greater responsibility to start celebrating our unique differences.

INTERVIEWER: Oh hey, I have to get this call can I call you right back?

    DICKEY: Sure!

FYI… I am still waiting for that call, but I am not holding my breath…

^^^ Question? Why are light-skinned Black women continuously demonized by other Black women to the utter delight of Whites? They throw it out.. you run and fetch it….. yassuh massah suh.. we’ze outraged by this colored girl as longin as yuze sayz we iz massuh.

I can agree everybody here has made valid points and contradictions simply to add my to two cents.Whatever word we use to clarify ourselves or oneself is jus that-The Truth,by our own life. There are many mentalities and emotions on Blackness and Nationality.Sure you can put them in the same concept or paradigm. In the attempt to find ourselves in the politics of America we had our Black revolutionaries(going back to our origins)some even to denounce the getting together, the intergration of The civil Rights Movement.Because it was to find an opposition and still is in some areas but make no mistake the well-being of us wasn’t simply Location,Location,Location though you have our proud Isrealites,Moors,Africans. The Primary Goal was not to share the same bathroom or bus;or even to appeal to the masses as a so called Minority to be the first Negro Judge. It was first to signify the we were Black because we knew everything has an opposition, contradiction.Hot is to cold,Big is to small,Malcolm X is to Martin Luther. For survival and competition you have to be down for one side of the contradiction.Blackness against Whiteness,no matter where you came from, for survival, competition, and having no choice because it’s meant for Black Folks to lose themselves;A gun to the head. No,you should be proud to come from where you come but Blackness is a culture so because of how harsh this is-you can only choose a side to represent yourself. It is your own personal opinion or fact if you may,on who you are, what you are.Yet,those who really are on top have high degrees in the hierarchy of America and so forth know they didn’t simply attack and enslave for the color of your skin.Out of jealousy, and depending on your perspective of life-but be sure to find out that on two sides of this we are biologically, spiritualy different because everything and everyone has a contradiction and that is one of the Universal Laws.Blackness is a color and a state of mind symbolizing something like the cosmos(oh yeah!I’m on my Kool Kieth shit!).To say that you are mixed with these two things is to say you are confused and to fuck around and go back and forth for 2 different races is to fuck and around and get shot and forgot. But,hey! It depends how you look at the world. If you consider yourself apart of a Race remember your competing for money and the masses are competing with the “Minority”.Call yourself what you will because I’m Black and happen to be an indidvidual but I’m an indidviual who happens to be black. You don’t have to follow your ancestors cuz you can find your own destiny but remember to update the Blueprint of your KinFolk even if your pop was a dead beat. You might even learn a thing to the likes of other Black Faces from the passes like Martin,Malcolm,Huey,or hell!even Dr.York……………………

I will open with this… Each of us, Black, redefine blackness every day of our lives. We can’t be grouped as one lump sum, and why should we? African blacks are just as diluted, look at the cradle of humanity Ethiopia. When I see Ethiopians, I see every race walking the earth rolled up into one. Beyonce could claim heritage from there much more than she could claim Irish. But, I digress. There isn’t one drop of blood, we in this day an age, should ever be ashamed of having, or be ashamed of claiming. We just need to be who we know we are, and true to being Black in America… We shouldn’t give a f*ck what anyone else thinks. This includes our neighbors, or family and our friends. They don’t decide who were are. We do. No one said we had to hate one another for not agreeing. We should hold each other up, as we want to be held up and respected. How can we expect anyone to respect us, if we can’t respect ourselves and each other Black face we meet.

Beyonce is NOT mixed her grandmother was, leaving her mother partly mixed but technically not her, if you look at it exactly the way the government does; Beyonce IS African American, and when she does her taxes, she WILL LEGALLY HAVE TO check the African American box, not the box that says “OTHER”.
She stated numerous times that she would rather be Latino but some of her fans still don’t believe she said it, even though it’s documented on video and in print, they would rather believe that she is being picked on, “misunderstood” and “taken out of context”. I don’t think so, when you bleach your skin, wear contacts, (she does check older pictures her eyes are dark brown not this light color you now see),have plastic surgery to look more white, forever in a blonde lacefronts, and says Gweneth Palthrow and Kate Moss are her fashion icons and true inspirations, then where is the misunderstanding??? She was also misunderstood when she took real writers songs and claimed they were hers,(been sued more than 3 times for this, one cd was even recalled off the shelf for this) and misunderstood again when she jacks other people’s concepts and says “she was INSPIRED”. Thieves all over the world can now claim they were “inspired” in her honor.
Don’t place all the blame on her dad either for Beyonce’s shady business practices, she is a mini Diana Ross for this generation, and when she gets older. trust, all the people she has done wrong will talk when they are no longer afraid of her, just like now everybody knows what a user and manipulative person Diana Ross is/was. Beyonce has stated numerous times she is involved in every aspect of her career and is in full control of her songs and career direction, Daddy was just a convenient scapegoat so no heat will fall on her, and when he was of no more use to her, and an embarrassment on her “perfect” image, he was dismissed just like all the other members of Destiny’s child. I use to be a huge fan of her’s but I can not ignore how addicted to attention and a liar she is. She says she doesn’t’ drink, pictures of her drunk and half passed out numerous times emerge. She doesn’t want to talk about her relationship with JayZ, now that her album isn’t doing to well, not only is she talking but we even see her wedding dress in one of her videos, she say Jay was her was her first love and first real boyfriend, ummm not, again lies, she dated several gentleman before Jay, which her real first love was told he was in the way of her career and was “dismissed”. And yes, I believe she had a surrogate, Jessica Simpson has been pregnant forever and this chick is conveniently pregnant at the AMA’s to steal the show, and by Grammy time she gives birth? And then releases photos of the baby on Grammy weekend??? You know she is pissed that Whitney Houston stole her shine. And now her pr team to combat the surrogate situation, is planting stories of her breast feeding in public, but there is no real pictures of her doing this just a picture of her walking with a covered up something, but again no breast feeding pictures. I believe the child is theirs I just don’t believe she carried it.

Every other black person carrying the slave masters name is MIXED. some of us are just products of interacial couples. It just kills me how offended we get when someone says my mothers mom is french my fathers mom is from the islands. You CANT get mad at who folks are related to. If you are living in america you are not 100% black or african no matter how dark you are. I never heard one person in all these stupid ass replies mention the ONE DROP RULE. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/jefferson/mixed/onedrop.html
All the people on this blog in defense of Beyonces Loreal commercial are apart of the problem. When you know your history and you understand the mans attempt to make you feel less than because of your roots, then you cling to your roots more deeply because you understand what the game is about. I saw the commercial and immediately sighed thinking:’really, this again?’ Several years ago I recall Beyonce calling her mother Hispanic. (And that’s quite believable IMO.) Then out of nowhere they’re all Creole. Period. I would say I’m confused but it’s clearly the Knowles women who are confused. Either way, the look of ‘her’ baby could be easily believable IF Beyonce were Creole. But I just can’t take that one and run with it–much as she wants us to.

One more thing, don’t put all the blame L’Oreal either. EVERY AD that has Beyonce in it she get’s to approve before it goes public, so that skin lightning one, where she looks white, she approved that. This “I’m mixed” so I don’t have to be categorized as Black ad, she approved that. That Vouge ad where she looked white, she also approved that. L’Oreal is not psychic, where do you think they got the information from???
She told it to them that’s how.

The “White” corporation is just making money on what the I don’t want to be “Black” woman gave them to work with. Do they know it’s not right, yes, do they care no. Does Beyonce know what she’s doing? Yes, because she wants to appeal to a white crossover audience, does she care about black girl’s image No.Does she and Jay-Z care about money, yes. She’s already told you “No passengers on my plane”.

Beyonce has told Black people several times that’s not who she wants to be, but they don’t get. Nothing that a good shimmy and a blonde wig can’t do with a big smile to deceive you.

Her lyrics to Creole are “CREOLE! When I look real good CREOLE! Wheneva I talk real good CREOLE! Wheneva I bounce real good” Really???? Really??????

Think if a white a person went around singing: “WHITE! When I look real good WHITE! Wheneva I talk real good WHITE! Wheneva I bounce real good WHITE”. Marinate on that.

She is not mixed, Mariah Carey is mixed, Halle Berry is mixed, Halle’s baby is mixed. Beyonce’s grandmother was mixed, she married a black man, so Tina is black,Tina married a black man, so Beyonce is Black, and that’s the way the government looks at it. For her it’s a check the Black box on all government forms and ID.

In Latina magazine Beyonce herself again shuns her Black race by saying “I’m just jealous that I wasn’t born Latina. I wish I had been because the culture is so beautiful.”

Black culture isn’t beautiful? Let me see, Black people help BUILD this country.

All inventions by a Black woman or Black man. But because Beyonce is beautiful, people can’t seem to see the lies and manipulation she’s portraying. And when the baby looks Latina because that’s what her surrogate was, remember, she’s already laid the lie out to why. Sorry for the typo’s. I have now fixed it so that everyone understands the point I am trying to get across, and added a little more. Thank you so much DJ Golden for you nice comment.

That Vouge ad where she looked white, she approved that. That Billboard magazine ad where she looks even whiter, she approved that, and that French magazine where she went racist “blackface”, she also approved and signed off on that. Look at pictures of her from the beginning of her career and look at pictures of her now, she has gone from brown to beige, don’t take my word from it, Google it yourself, and no that it is not by accident, it was strategically planned for her to appeal to not a Black audience but a broader, white based, cross over audience. A Black audience will make you rich, but a white audience will make you wealthy, or at least that’s the way she sees it. L’Oreal is not psychic, where do you think they got the information from???
She told it to them that’s how.

The “White” corporation is just making money on what the “I don’t want to be “Black” woman” gave them to work with. Do they know it’s not right, yes, do they care no. Does Beyonce know what she’s doing? Yes, because she wants to appeal to a white crossover audience, does she care about black girl’s image, No. Does she and Jay-Z care about money, yes. She’s already told you “No passengers on my plane”.

Beyonce has told Black people several times that’s not who she wants to be, but they don’t seem to get it. Nothing that a good shimmy and a blonde wig can’t do with a big bright smile to deceive you.

Beyonce’s grandmother was mixed, she married a black man, so Tina is black, Tina married a black man, so Beyonce is Black, and that’s the way the government looks at it.

All during her “supposed ” vacation all we see are still staged photo ops form her camp, you can’t miss her, because she won’t let you. Even know that the baby is here, she can’t sit down and enjoy it, she’s already planning two movies, one with her best friend Gweneth Paltrow, whom she has said is her her style icon, not a black woman, but Gweneth Platrow and Kate Moss, two blonde white women (got to get that inspiration for those new blonde lace fronts from somewhere) and two new cd’s. What about taking care of your newborn instead of reading new scripts? she has the life many women would love the money and opportunity to stay home for a while and enjoy the baby but she can’t, the need for fame won’t let her. And some of her fans will say “She doesn’t have to because she’s Beyonce” and there’s why she won’t, right there, because she’s mentally got you, and she knows it.

If she did like J’Lo and just go raise her child for a few years and give us a chance to miss her, she would probably come back stronger but she can’t go away, because she can’t let go of the spotlight. She can’t enjoy her new child because she’s too afraid someone else will sparkle and shine.

She is the Diana Ross liar/manipulator for my generation, and Kelly Rolland better stop drinking the Beyonce kool-aid. One of two things is happenng with Beyonce,

    1. She is truely color struck, which is not surprising in many balck families who still have color issues to this day.

    2. Beyonce is hinting that the rumor that Matthew Knowles isn’t her biological father is true. Allegedly when Matthew and Tina met, Beyonce was about 4 or 5 years old, her biological father was white. Which would also explain why her “baby” doesn’t look one bit black at all. Not even mixed.

Either way, I could care less. If Beyonce wants to claim to be mixed. Its no skin off of my back, she can’t sing, can’t act… is a liar, a thief and an attention whore.

First of all I’m not Truth but whoever she or he is, has you all heated and bothered so hats off to them, and to all the other people who voice their opinion, it’s America freedom of speech, but you can’t take it, it’s just to much for you. Slavery of the mind is when you can’t see past the mental plantation.

I usually don’t respond to crazy stans but since you like your arsenic lemonade with extra ice, let me help you and pull out several seats in the back corner, facing the wall with no windows for you.

Maybe if you spent more time focusing on your life instead of Beyonce’s you would be holding the cover of a magazine with you on it instead of her.

And although I do not condone “convenient” Christianity, let me help you to the pew.

“King James Bible, Exodus 20:17, because you probably don’t know where to find it,
Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbor’s.”

Meaning you are so focused and enamored with Beyonce and going after everybody who has a different opinion of her than you, that your making your own self look stupid. You seem obsessed, and it’s not healthy or sane. Beyonce herself has said some of her stans go to far, consider her talking about you.

2nd of all, while your praising and worshiping queen b, the real word from KING JESUS and his father GOD THE HIGHEST, states “You shall have no other gods before me,or FALSE idols or deities.” Exodus 20:3. That bible verse is speaking right to you.

Now you can rant and rave and call people names with blank stares all you want because that’s what crazy people who have no or low self esteem do. I’m done with you and will not respond anymore to your foolishness. Keep up with your false idol worship, enjoy it today because your soul will pay for it tomorrow. Exodus 20:3, try to comprehend it.

If you think claiming to be 100% black is your expression of being down, ok so be it. There is so much more than just saying I’m black I’m not mixed with nuttin’

Some of us were already here when columbus got here so what is Native American?? its not all indian.. Ask Ivan Van Setima. White people and puerto ricans are not going around breaking it down publicly.. Beyonce’s team should be more aware of who made her who she is. I take it no one here watched that PBS doc hosted by that Harvard Prof (Barry’s friend…the one who had the beef with the Boston PD and he and some cop ended up having beers at TWH, I forget his name. But the doc originally aired during Black History month 2008, anyway in it the prof interviews many famous black and white Americans (and when I say famous I mean celebs) and asks them what their ancestry was/is, then a genetic DNA test was done on them. Well many white’s believed they only had European blood and many Black’s believed they all had only African and many Native American blood. Can you imagine their surprise when many “whites” found they in fact had African blood, and many blacks found they didn’t have a drop of Native American blood but European! The doc was great. I wrote a paper on it because it was a few years after I found out why I was given up for adoption by my white mother (for having “black native american blood,” which isn’t even exactly true. Just what he mother thought).

I’m sure the admin here could find the doc. It’s very informative.

No, its not “who your father is” that makes your racial determination but scientific fact is that “YOU ARE WHO YOUR MOTHER IS” because of the strength of the Mitochondrial DNA…..

This is why the white male set out to seduce and sway the BLACK WOMAN over to his side and to obtain her support to sustain and keep his empire running…Whoever the black woman supports through her DNA , spiritual and mental faculties is who will control the world…

This is why the white man sets out to place black women in support roles and jobs throughout his empire to obtain her support over the support of her own black “males” (cant really call them men anymore) and her own black seed…If you dont believe me ask Condi Rice, Oprah and Debra Lee how that works …And if you dont believe me then ask the 92% of black women who wear their hair to support the image of the Beast, for whom she serves.

I remember when Destiny’s Child fist came out, they were doing a question and answer session online with some of their fans. Somebody asked Beyonce if she was mixed. She told them no! She actually acted offended that they had asked the question. Every interview I’ve seen her in she claimed to be Afican American. Solange even identifies her son as being African American.

Anyway, I was born and raised in Texas and am just as mixed as Beyonce. My father is African American with Indian and White in his family. His grandmother and some others were mixed. His greatgrandfather is white. My mother is from Mississippi and is just as mixed as Beyonce’s mom. She is Black, White, and Indian. My grandfather, great grand parents, and other family members on my mom’s side all look white and some very Indian. My family, especially on my mom’s side do not claim to be mixed. Some of my family members are lighter than Beyonce and her mom and they still claim to be black and nothing else.

Anyway, I’m not saying she shouldn’t claim to be mixed just because I don’t, but I still give her the side eye. This screams desperate and her trying hard to fit in with whites in Hollywood. I highly doubt Beyonce knows Creole or anything about her French or Indian heritage. This is the main reason why I would never openly claim my white or Indian blood. I know nothing about those cultures. I grew up in a black family although they are mixed, and around other blacks, just like Beyonce. She is lost. But then again, Hollywood loves to whitewash black faces every chance they get.

Get this in your mind creole is not a race I am Cape-Verdean and I am creole myself, creole is the same as mulatto, which means a descendant of either black and white parties, any doubt? ask Amber Rose what’s her race?

    [Reply]

You need to have two parents of two different races to be mixed. Beyonce’s parents are black. She is not mixed.

Hot damn shame! The picture doesn’t even look like Beyonce. This picture has been overly lightened, the changed her nose, jaw line, it’s like the eyes are hers but nothing else is. Beyonce should be ashamed of this. If Loreal didnt want to showcase a true black woman then the deal shudda never went down. I know alot of people luv Beyonce but It saddens me that our young girls see this & think this is true beauty when in fact it’s false advertising….

[…] for the record, claiming to be “mixed” is fine (although some would argue with you on whether being Black insinuates being mixed by the nature of ou…, but that’s for another post).  I’m “mixed” too.  But that doesn’t […]

  63. tracy |

All this mixed stuff is a trap for the erasure of blacks. Now Americans asssume dark skin does not equate to mixure. I am a black South American dark skinned woman whom has curly , wavy hair that I do not perm. I probably have more race mixture than Beyonce as my background is Native American, Portuguese, British, and East Inidan. But I am the color of Naomi Campbell and people say I look like Toni Braxton.
Beyonce and her full head of blonde weave just needs to stop the madness, she is NOT Lena Horne or Halle Berry mixed. She is majority black. And bot her parents are blacks. Its stupid. I dont think she has much sense. Everyone on earth has another race in thier background, its black separatism based on color and you cannot do that.
There are TONS of dark skinned mixed African Americans. Last I checked Beyonce has kinky hair too.

beyoncve wants to impress her white friends let her we know her background if matthew’s not her dad her real dad is black.

if her ancestry is creole that still means beyonce has more black genes than white ones.

we can debate creole origins but when it’s over they come from racemixing.

bottomline no matter how you look at it bey’s black.

Basically if you are a pretty black woman, Americans now is equating that with race mixture and that Halle Berry started all of this but at least Halle says she is black, even though she actually can claim mixed.
With the growing hispanic population of hispanics with black admixture and black hispanics who dont claim black, it appears that Black Americans may be diluted in numbers if they dont wake up to what is happening. .

    right.

but would anybody even care that’s not Black themselves?

why should Black people cherish or take pride in being the ‘uninvited guest’ in Society as a whole?

I have to laugh at all the black people listing everything they “claim” ( and keyword claim) to mixed with and then proceed to say that other people shouldn’t claim to be mixed and how proud they are to be “just black.” The truth is that you aren’t proud to be black.

If you were proud to be black you wouldn’t feel the need to force other people to claim “just black.” You would be content and confident in who you are and you wouldn’t be so threatened by someone who is mixed and claims to be mixed. Black people suffer from a deep-seeded insecurity and inferiority complex and it’s expressed through this hyper pro-black mentality/ideology. It’s just a facade. It’s not true. I wish it was true. It’s sad and it pains me.

*Thank you…because I’m so seriously sick of Beyonce, her husband, that poor little baby she doesn’t know how to hold properly, the self made media notations about her (ALL of them are done & paid for by Team Beyonce) the sheer theivery this chick comments on the regular for instance, ALL the various songs she’s stolen &/or knew she didn’t have clearence for & used it anyway. Beyonce is one of the most cut-thoat, underhanded, lying, self absorbed, overrated, illmannered, uneducated, non-grammar, ego driven person not just in Hollywood but on earth. I’m so sick of this chick I’m about to boycott Pepsi because the little time I have the tv on I’m bombarded with her Pepsi commercial REPEATEDLY which is not going to promote neither the sale of any of their products nor generate added ticket sales to her concerts. You couldn’t give me a ticket to her show. We have 30 tickets to her shows for 3 diffent venues & I bet we won’t use half of them. They keep pushing this chick down everybody’s throat as if “she’s going grow on us” or something. She came, she grew on many, she played herself, she’s been well exposed in more ways than many & we’re over her.
Damn, go somewhere, sit down & let your people amp your head up of notions that you’re an icon of sort and give people who want to hear real music about something other that “YOU being the shit & how all the other people need to bow down…to a tramp like you of all people?” a break. Go raise your child, enjoy your ugly husband,

Creole has absolutely nothing to do with skin color. Rachel Jentel is creole and she’s dark skin. Like most African Americans, Beyonce claims every iota of “other” blood she has in her. We have many different ethnicities blood in us because of the crime visited upon us. It’s called slavery. It is because of that same crime and it’s lingering repercussions that so many of us try to distance ourselves from our race. Why do we refer to our ancestors as slaves instead of PEOPLE enslaved or people born into slavery. The definition of a slave is 3/4 of a human being. As per the Bible, God ain’t made none of those. We are Americans, just like still in 2013, it finds it difficult to divorce it self from the perceived superiority that birthed the atrocities bought upon a whole race of people. We have not as of yet divorced ourselves from what was done to us. Overcoming what is entrenched is difficult, we’ll get there one day, hopefully.

I guess it does not matter, I see a huge ignorance on both sides is black or white, yellow or red
I mean if a white guy like a black woman he can not marry her, have children because families will disapprove or vice versa this is all bullshit and I talk OWNED because I am the son of a black man with a white woman blue eyes and nothing that made me give up what I want to conquer my life in case of beyonce no one stops being less talented or more talented for being black or white, unfortunately we live in modern times one aparthaide created by big media and in humans intelligent human wisdom we have to decide what we want.

There is a huge difference between Native American, and American Indian.

Native Americans= Original owners of this land ‘U.S.A.’.

Indian Americans= Natives of India, ENROLLED American…like all the other non-Native American people of this land.

Oh! And by the way, I love when African girls embrace their natural hair it looks 1,000x better then the fake hair!! Really it’s beautiful on ya!!!!
