Blame The Industry Not Broads

I had this story a few days back but honestly the truth is I passed on it. Today I changed my mind and decided it’s news so here it is:
Do you remember Nia Long? In case I need to remind you, she was in John Singleton’s “Boy’s In The Hood “, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and Big Momma’s house.
She’s pissed at Beyonce…know why? ‘Cuz Beyonce and others like ” Jennifer Hudson” are getting all the roles that Tinseltown previously gave to Nia.
I believe Gabrielle Union was mad at Beyonce for the same reasons. Samuel Jackson even complained about, in essence the same thing regarding rappers becoming actors…
Nia’s remarks toward Bey came from an interview in a magazine called ” Pride”; is that a gay magazine? Anyways, to make a long story short Nia’s point was that (it’s) not about acting anymore it’s about the Box Office…In other words Hollywood is giving roles to popular people who already have a fanbase. No shit Nia, expect to see Perez Hilton on the big screen soon too.
Musicians were complaining about this type of thing a long time ago when actors, models, actresses, and professional athletes like Shaq and Dion Sanders became singers.
Did anyone hear the musicians cry for help? No…You all called those musicians haters for defending their own craft mane!
Nobody was listening before; it was all a big joke when the industry decided to ruin music… Since this town has already destroyed the music business they have decided to do the same to the film world. Michael Bay is doing a good job at it – can’t wait to see Twilight 2 and 3…
I’m sure Bruno is a great film too…
My point here is Beyonce is a good enough actress to take the “new Hollywood” roles; she’s in the same class as Megan Fox…isn’t she? What is Nia Long talking about? Tyrese ia a good enough actor; he’s in the same class as Ryan Phillipe… isn’t he?
The public hasn’t got a clue of what’s good anymore… Major companies have teamed up with the recording and film industries to ruin the public’s eye’s and ears.
Example: Bruno is the Number 1 movie in the country and I already know it’s a horrible film.
Is that where being a true fan of art now lies? Knowing that the “biggest movie of the summer” must mean it sucks?…
Many people liked this film though…know why? ‘Cuz it’s Number 1 mane – phenomeons of pop culture are now created in the reverse. They tell US what’s popular. Would anyone know who Drake was if the blogs and BET hadn’t starting “hyping” him? How can you disagree – I haven’t heard his record, neither has anyone else. What exactly where they “hyping”?…
Drake is number 1 in R ‘n B and he’s also number 1 on the hip/hop charts… guess what? Drake is coming from the acting scene – in other words he has no street cred…Tupac is rollin’ in his grave mane.
Hey Nia: don’t blame Beyonce ‘cuz you can’t get work. Blame the industry.
It’s a popularity contest Nia; I thought you knew this mane…

I watched ’50′ in a recent interview talk ’bout Drake; 50 is a really observant dude, he said: “his (50) rise was Organic,” essentially, he’s agreeing with you; that it wasn’t hype, it was real!
While battling, as TeamChris call ‘em, the ‘Rhianna Robots’, on the different blogs, this Drake subject/topic popped up, ‘we’ noticed that Rhianna was using him to get Chris jealous, so we ‘went-in’ on him too! Jacky, the next thing you knew is Drake was seen with Tayanna Taylor and Bow Wow. The significance of that is that those are Breezy’s friends.
But we kicked Drake’s azz all over cyberspace, it’s like his supporters are even ‘weaker’ than Rhianna’s supporters, save the lesbians and such- which had to deal with on a different plane.
But Drake is setting himself up for a fall! You can only hype someone up but for so long and so much – they’ve got to deliver! If they don’t, it’ll be bad, really, really bad!!
In the most recent interview he did with ABC, the one that you posted the link to, he made mention to what I was eluding to; when asked ’bout his contract, he said that he got some money, but he kept the rights to his music. I had posted commentary on such that I heard on a certain financial news channel: artists are now giving up their rights to their own music – just to get signed!

I think Jacky is a true connoisseur of art, and listening to his music has helped me refine my ears and eyes. I’m looking forward to hearing more Jacky Jasper. You can tell when someone has worked hard.
