Former San Diego Chargers all-star, number 55, Junior Seau, who was 43 years old, was found dead in his home in Oceanside, CA this morning . Police on the scene say they believe it to be suicide.

Reportedly, Seau sent text messages to his ex-wife and 3 kids yesterday saying, “Love you.” The family apparently didn’t suspect anything was wrong. Sources close to Seau say, family members didn’t notice any signs of depression in recent weeks. Continue Reading…

L.A. LAKERS Meta World Peace suspended 7 games for flagrant elbow to James Harden

Los Angeles Lakers forward Meta World Peace was suspended by NBA commissioner David Stern for 7 games for throwing an elbow to the head of an unsuspecting James Harden of the Oklahoma City Thunder. One game served will be the Lakers final home game which means MWP would miss the first round of the playoffs.

Some say this is not enough, some say this is Sterns way of making sure that L.A. Lakers, his big ticket, money making team, still makes it deep into playoffs and possibly the NBA Finals for that dream LeBron James matchup.

I say, it’s the Oklahoma City Thunder players’ fault. Why you ask. I shall tell you why. NOT ONE of the “star” players or leaders on that team went to physically confront Meta World Peace. NOT ONE. Power forward Serge Ibaka thought about confronting MWP but as soon as MWP got in the fighting stance, Ibaka backed off. Kendrick Perkins did NOTHING, which I must say surprised me for I thought Perkins was really a tough kind of player. I figured the least Perkins would do is clobber the next Laker that went into the paint. He didn’t. Put it this way, I now know that Kendrick Perkins is NO Ben Wallace. I did not expect Kevin Durant to get physically involved nor did I expect Russell Westbrook. What I did expect was for those two to go “lights out” offensively for the rest of the game. Jurors convicted former Bengal Nate Webster on sex abuse charges but acquitted him on others. Prosecutors accused Webster of having sex with the teenage daughter of a Bengals employee when she was 15 years old, sometimes at gunpoint.

After nearly eight hours of deliberations, the jury convicted Webster on four counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor but acquitted him of gross sexual imposition, sexual battery and one count of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. The jury also did not attach any gun specifications to the four counts for which Webster was convicted.

Webster admits to conducting a sexual relationship with the girl, who is now 18 years old, but claims they never had sex until she was 16 years old, which is the age of legal consent in Ohio. Continue Reading…

Former Dallas Cowboys star Deion Sanders has been charged with misdemeanor simple assault in the wake of an altercation with his estranged wife that got her arrested at their mansion in suburban Dallas on Monday.

Police issued a statement late Tuesday saying further investigation led to citations against both Sanders and his estranged wife, Pilar, who still live together in their Prosper Texas home.

Now that we know Orlando Magic Center Dwight Howard is having back surgery for a herniated disk and has not quit on his team, I wonder if reporters like ESPN’s Jemele Hill are going to apologize for adding fuel to an already out of control fire of rumors and innuendo’s in regards to the Dwight Howard/Stan Van Gundy/Orlando Magic situation. I highly doubt it.

Dan Fegan, Howard’s agent, said he hopes this development debunks any thoughts that Howard’s back problem was not serious and that he was utilizing it as an excuse not to play, a sentiment expressed by a few sports reporters, including the aforementioned Jemele Hill of ESPN. It appears he will not only miss the rest of the NBA regular season, he will miss the playoffs and the 2012 Summer Olympic Games too. According to his doctors, D.Howard can resume training within 4 months.

According to AP reports, D.Howard has stated before that a major reason he opted into the final year of his contract is because the Magic said they’d trade him if he didn’t, and he wasn’t prepared to give up on winning a title with the Magic this year. Even now it is said that he still believes the Magic are capable of a title run without him. Not that I am being a defeatist but I highly doubt the Magic can win anything without D.Howard in the lineup. Hell, as a SIXERS fan, I doubt if they can win the NBA title WITH D.Howard.

The boxing champ “associate” who caused a gun-fueled ruckus, after another man wished Mayweather an unlucky fight, could serve up to 18-years behind bars.

On Friday April 20, 2012, in a Las Vegas courtroom, Ocie Harris pled guilty to opening fire at two victims.

You may remember back in 2009, the pair of victims managed to duck the bullets after shots were fired at them while seated in a vehicle outside the Crystal Palace Skate Center. No one was injured in the incident.
