Sly Stone Misses Court Date

Sly Stone Misses Court Date - June 2011

HSK Exclusive - As TMZ currently waits outside the Los Angeles County courthouse waiting for a glimpse of Sly Stone arriving to face cocaine possession charges, HSK has the real story!

Sylvester Stewart aka Sly Stone the legendary frontman for Sly & The Family Stone failed to appear at the courthouse today. Know why? Because Sly Stone’s lawyer Peter Knecht told the judge his client Sly was check into the Good Samaritan Hospital mane.

The judge then asked his clerk to check and see if Sly was in fact hospitalized at Good Samaritan and guess what? Sly wasn’t there, matter of fact he had never been admitted.

Sly’s court date was for a drug possession so I’m not surprised, but for a 68 year old man to act like this just goes to show you that the for some, the party never stops in Hollywood. At least not until you die. I would tell you to ask Rick James but he’s dead.

Story still developing, we will update you as we get more information…

This shocking admission is all laid out in the former Public Enemy hype man’s autobiography, Flavor Flav: The Icon The Memoir. In this read, the rapper talks candidly covering his longtime struggle with addictions, and his multiple trips to rehabilitation centers and jail.

Here’s what Flav had to say:

“I was spending $2,600 a day, for six years, every single day. I don’t know how much that is but if you did the math, wow, I went through a lot of money. If I did the math I’d probably be shocked on how much money I spent, I’d probably punch myself in the face.” Continue Reading…

Officials Finally Deem War On Drugs A Failure

Thursday, June 2nd, 2011

War on Drugs Deemed Failure

The American-led war on drugs is a failure and governments should move toward the legalization of some drugs, especially marijuana, concludes a report from a panel of politicians and former world leaders. The Global Commission on Drug Policy panel—which includes former UN chief Kofi Annan, the former presidents of Brazil, Mexico, and Colombia, and Reagan-era Secretary of State George Schultz among its 19 members—blamed anti-drug efforts for widespread violence and corruption in Latin America, reports the Wall Street Journal.

The panel argued that instead of punishing drug users who do no harm to others, governments should look into ways of undermining the power of drug cartels and offering help to addicts. A White House spokesman rejected the panel’s recommendations, insisting that current drug policy is not the product of a “drug war” mentality. “Making drugs more available—as this report suggests—will make it harder to keep our communities healthy and safe,” the spokesman said.
