Suge Knight Writing Tell-All Book?

August 29th, 2014

One possible motive for the shooting of Suge Knight at the Chris Brown hosted event was to discourage him from releasing a tell-all book on his music industry reign.

Music insiders are buzzing that Knight is shopping a story on his career, from founding Death Row Records in the early ’90s to his hard-handed business dealings, including the legendary tale of holding Vanilla Ice over a hotel balcony to obtain rights to his radio hit “Ice Ice Baby.” Knight was also famously the driver of the BMW in which Tupac Shakur was fatally shot in. The Whitewashing of James Brown

August 1st, 2014

By Gregory Allen Howard, Screenwriter, Writer, Author and Essayist

“If ever a project required black creative involvement, it was this one. James Brown was the blackest entertainer in the history of America. The blackest. There was nothing integrationist about his art, at all. He never tried to crossover. You had to come to him. He was iconic and not just musically.”

There were several meetings. Eight white men and two white women. Was this a meeting of the Mormon Glee Club? The New White Citizens Council? Perhaps a Klan meeting? No. That meeting was the creative team for the new James Brown movie, “Get On Up.”

Welcome to post-racial Hollywood where if you host a fundraiser for Barack Obama, you’re freed of the burden of hiring black writers. And where a rich white producer can jokingly declare, “I’m black.” Continue Reading…
