Last night, I watched TV One’s coverage of Big Daddy Kane “UnSung Hero”.

During the program, I learned Kane (and other cats from the rapper’s hip hop era) did a lot of of collaborating with musicians who were before their time. That’s a good thing. Know why? Because new artists learn from older artists, and visa versa mane – but what caught my attention in this documentary was when Kane introduced Jay Z to the limelight. I thought that was cool of Kane. But, I asked myself this: Why didn’t Jay Z ever return the favor and sign Kane when he and Dame Dash had Roc-A-Fella Records?

Earlier this month an interview Beanie Sigel did with XXL was circulating the internet. The point of interest in that article being his apology to Jay Z for the way their relationship played out.

Well now Sigel has done an about-face and during a radio interview with Green Lantern over the weekend, he now says he doesn’t owe Jay an apology.

Beanie Sigel apologized to Jay Z (for this & this too) and I must wonder why? Did Beanie Sigel realize that Jay Z is his cash cow? I don’t know but I do know Beans discussed it in a recent interview with XXL.

Here’s what the Philadelphia gangsta rapper Beanie Sigel had to say:

“Whatever I felt this dude Jay did wrong to me, it can’t overweight the one thing he did do for me he gave me an opportunity. Dude gave me an opportunity. I got caught in the moment and put my feelings out there. I should have never done that. I decided to scrap a full album worth of material dissing Roc-A-Fella and Jay Z, in favor of an album of new material with DJ Green Lantern.”

Jay-Z has been named as one of the celebrities that the DC Police Department says may have been party to unauthorized police escorts.

The DCPD is conducting an internal investigation to see if celebrities such as Jay, Bill Gates and Charlie Sheen – also named in the investigation – may have obtained police escorts, violating department procedure.

Police Chief Kathy Ranier recently voiced the department’s take on the matter saying police escorts are strictly for “presidents, vice presidents, visiting heads of state, mayor and others, and only if there’s a public safety issue.” Continue Reading…
