A gunman is dead and one of his victims is critically injured after the unidentified suspect opened fire on random motorists and pedestrians.

It happened about 10:30 this morning at the corner of Hollywood’s busy Sunset and Vine intersection. That’s where the suspect shot a man in a Mercedes, who was rushed to hospital; a second man, who suffered a graze wound to the leg; a third man told reported his car was hit by gunfire, but he was not wounded.

While a simple draft letter response to Mr. Singer diffused that situation without need for legal recourse on either side, the situation seems to have not turned out so amicable this time around.

Since he partnered with fellow attorney John H. Lavely in the early 1980′s, Marty Singer has built a niche legal practice of shielding stars from negative publicity. It appears now that his methods may not have always been above board.

Marty Singer has found himself this time around on the other side of the law, having been accused of extortion by going too far with one of his demand letters on behalf of his client Canadian born, Hollywood nightclub owner Shereen Arazm. Mrs. Arazm is married to Oren Koules, a co-defendant in the case. Mr. Koules is Charlie Sheen’s manager and an executive producer of 2 ½ Men. Mrs. Arazm is a member in Geisha House, LLC, which is part of the Dolce Group, that owns and operates various restaurant and nightclubs including Hollywood’s Geisha House and is currently the resident judge on “Top Chef Canada”.
