It totally disgusts me to fall witness to what black music has become. In fact, it’s not really about music anymore. Now, it’s all about which ‘artist’ is cheating on their spouse, who has the latest beef, what he or she was wearing at some awards show, etc. — this leads me to ask: WHERE HAS ALL THE TALENT GONE???

Nowadays, production of what is called ‘music’ has taken a turn for the worst. Now, it’s some guy programming beats, another dude buying it from him…ultimately stamping producer on that track (Sean ‘Puffy’ Combs and Jermaine Dupri are notorious for this method).

The so-called ‘artist’ is some chic who can’t sing (but looks cute) — her vocals are pitched into the right note, because she cannot sing in key. This is the sad reality, and it’s exactly why all of today’s so-called ‘artists’ can’t give a solid live performance to save their lives.

After all is said and done, the consumer continues to purchase this rubbish. What’s worse is the consumer has caught on to the method of the illusion, so they too are now trying to become stars themselves — Can you blame them? (more…)

After speaking with Ice this morning, HSK would like to clear up recent stories of affiliation between Ice T and certain individuals. Ice has reiterated that oftentimes he is photographed with people and mistakes can be made as to his association with them. We miss reported the association with Ice. BET Television Scandal Exposed?

Have you ever watched Harlem Heights or Baldwin Hills on BET? You might think the two shows do OK but the truth is a far far different story.

You’ve seen Harlem Heights right?. Guess what? Johnson & Johnson sponsors it. According to the show’s Executive Producer Michael McNamara, they (J&J) front the production cost and are the core financial backing to the show – far beyond the role of a traditional commercial advertiser.
“BET doesn’t care if anyone even watches the show because the production cost is fully sponsored before it even films”, said McNamara.

BET thus airs the show with no dip into BET’s own pockets! Great right? WRONG!

How “Black” is BET I must ask? If they’re owned by Viacom and only getting a check while letting a big over-sized white corporation like J&J fund the programming and a little bullshit production company film it where’s our piece? Are we supposed to watch this shitty television? Is that where “we” come in?

This fucking guy Mike keeps calling me, with the nerve to leave rude messages on my voice mail, and on my email.

Mike is responsible for stealing my domain name (jackyjasper.com). Now, can you believe that he’s trying to sell it back to me for three grand? I have proof. Know why? Because I have all of his verbal extortion demands on tape. Mike even went as far as to say that when he sees me, he’s going to kick my ass. He goes on to call me an ‘internet tough guy.’

Really it all boils down to jealously — plain and simple. Mike’s mad because I’m making money, and he’s not! The only reason why Mike does not have any more money is because he sniffed it all up his Virginia country-ass nose!

That’s what Dina Lohan had to say about her daughter Lindsay, in a telephone conversation between Dina and Lindsay’s father, Michael Lohan.

“She’s really sad and really hurt and really…I told her not to go to L.A. at 18…she did,” said Dina. “I couldn’t leave these other three to go get her and it was, like, a mess.”

The conversation took place more than a year ago, when Michael Lohan taped a string of phone calls about his daughter, who he says, is addicted to prescription pills.

Now, Lindsay’s lawyer is looking to take action against Michael Lohan for releasing the tapes. But, Michael says he’s afraid for his daughter’s life, and wants the truth to be known. (more…)

I first met Ike Turner back in 2001, while I was orchestrating DVD deals. I was looking to land a deal including an Ike and Tina Turner performance, so I got his number from my pimp buddy, Rex. Rex was good friends with Ronnie Turner, Ike’s son. I called Ike, but he didn’t answer, so I left a message. Ike later told me that after he listened to my voice message, he decided that I sounded like a genuine person. That’s the only reason why Ike said he returned my phone call.

Before I met him in person, Ike sent two young ladies to my home to meet with me. He did this to find out if I proved to be a trustworthy person. The two ladies would later return to Ike (with good news, in my favor), and confirm that I was in fact cool. Not long after, Ike and I hooked up. We ended up becoming so cool with one another, that Ike even told me “I wish my son’s were like you”.

After we wrapped the Ike and Tina Turner DVD deal, we stayed in touch. We’d vibe off each other’s music. One day, Ike said to me, “You got good music and I like your rapp’in but you look like a singer man…you should try singing.” He later introduced me to BLUES music, and asked me if I liked it. To tell you the truth, I wasn’t into it. But out of respect for Ike, I listened. “Let’s record an album together,” Ike said. “I’m working on a new album and I want you to be on it.” I was so shocked – I was like, “Yeah let’s do it!” And, before I knew it, we were recording an album together.
