An NYPD cop is in hot water after arresting a Brooklyn grandmother for prostitution.

It happened in New York’s Sunset Park. That’s where 41-year-old Monica Gonzalez was seeking help from passers by while the woman was having nighttime asthma attack.

Apparently, Officer Sean Spencer saw the woman from a distance, approaching men. The dumb cop chalked it up to solicitation, and busted the women (who reportedly has a squeaky clean record) for prostitution.

Now, Gonzalez has settled with the city for $35,000.

Officer Spencer is no stranger to federal lawsuits. It’s reported that the cop has already cost the city $80,000 to settle four other lawsuits against him. Spencer is now looking at disciplinary actions. (more…)

Morgan Freeman made his debut as replacement for Walter Cronkite’s voice on CBS’ Evening News, Monday.

The actor will stand in for the news program’s feature voice-over. The change comes about six months after the legendary newsman’s death, whose voice has been a staple in the news community for more nearly half a century. Cronkite joined CBS News back in 1950, after being recruited by Edward R. Murrow.

Now, you’ll hear Freeman introducing Katie Couric during CBS’ evening news time slot.

“As comforting as it is to look back on the great career that Walter had, we’re looking forward now and we just felt it was the right time to make the move that at some point had to be made,” said CBS News and Sports President Sean McManus. “This seemed like the appropriate time since Walter’s passing to make the move.”

During the height of his career as a CBS anchor, Cronkite was cited as “The Most Trusted Man in America.” Now, a man who many accuse of incest is replacing the voice of a legendary news man. (more…)

Gyant Unplugged first broke the Shawty Xmas eve shooting ….

Now rap music producer Shawty Redd is facing a murder charge after turning himself into Atlanta authorities, Friday morning.

28-year-old Demetrius “Shawty Redd” Stewart’s arrest comes days after a New Year’s day argument turned bloody, at the producer’s Georgia home. That’s where a man physically threatened Stewart, before the producer gathered a gun and shot him. Now, Stewart is accused of fatally shooting 35-year-old Damon Martin.

He’s is being held without bond in the Henry County jail. Stewart is scheduled to sit before a judge for his first court date, January 12th. (more…)

The drummer and backup singer for metalcore band, Avenged Sevenfold, was found dead in his Southern California home, Monday.

Investigators say 28-year-old James Owen Sullivan appears to have died of natural causes, but are waiting for an autopsy to confirm the “The Rev’s” cause of death.

Nashville police are on the hunt for…well, you could say Santa Claus.

That’s because an armed man dressed up as good ol’ Saint Nick walked into a Sun Trust bank before stuffing his Santa bank with money he demanded from the bank’s tellers, and driving off.

The robbery happened around 10:00 a.m. Tuesday.

Witnesses of the bank job say the man stayed in Santa character the whole time.

Apparently, the man said he need the money because “Santa needs to pay his elves.” (more…)

Police in the UK are outraged after an English priest advised his congregation that shoplifting is a form of survival, not a sin.

During his Sunday sermon, Reverend Tim Jones preached that people in dire need should shoplift, before committing a robbery or prostitution. Rev Jones added such an act committed by the poor would not be breaking the eighth commandment ‘thou shalt not steal.’ “My advice, as a Christian priest, is to shoplift – It is permissible for those who are in desperate situations to take food that they might not starve,” Rev Jones said. “I would ask them not to take any more than they need. I offer the advice with a heavy heart. Let my words not be misrepresented as a simplistic call for people to shoplift”

The renegade reverend stood strongly by his ‘against the grain’ opinion, blaming society for leaving many poor with little options for basic survival. “For many at the bottom of our social ladder, lawful, honest life can sometimes seem to be an apparent impossibility,” Rev Jones announced. “When people are released from prison, or find themselves suddenly without work or family support, then to leave them for weeks with inadequate or clumsy social support is monumental, catastrophic folly.” (more…)

2009 has not been a good year for child molestors, yet surprisingly good for R. Kelly?!? Pleasure P was outted, Anand Jon was locked up and… “America’s Best Dance Crew” judge and “So You Think You Can Dance” choreographer, Shane Sparks, was recently arrested in Los Angeles and charged with child molestation, Friday.

Officials say the victim at the center of the case is one of Sparks’ former dance students.

An investigation has determined that the sexual molestation by the 35-year-old Cincinnati native, began back in 1994 and lasted for several years. (more…)
