According to Newser… A former Faux News exec who helped launch the channel in 1996 claims the Rupert Murdoch-owned network has a “counter intelligence and black ops office” that may have engaged in a little phone hacking of its own. The New York “brain room,” which most thought was just a research department, existed to gather information on those perceived as enemies of the channel, says Dan Cooper. Cooper says he helped design the unit, which was very high-security and had a guard at the door, the Telegraph reports.

Cooper says that after he left the channel and gave an anonymous quote to New York magazine for a 1997 article on Roger Ailes, he was threatened by Ailes—who, Cooper believes, must have gotten the confidential information by hacking into the phone records of the article’s author. Cooper first made the allegations in 2005, and Fox News firmly denies his claims, noting that he was “terminated six weeks after the launch” of the channel. Meanwhile, another former exec says the network spied on staff, reading emails and creating an environment like that of “Russia at the height of the Soviet era.”

Members of Patti LaBelle’s entourage were involved in a physical confrontation on March 11, 2011, with a West Point cadet at Bush Intercontinental airport. At the time Patti’s crew called police and accused the cadet, named Richard King, of getting too close and hurling racial slurs at the songstress.

When police arrived on the scene they posed for photos with Patti. A report was taken that was bias to the injured cadet. Flash forward 6 months and after closer inspection of the video, and an internal investigation against the officers who responded to the call, it appears Patti’s entourage were the aggressors after all.

One of the young men who was sexually abused by pastor Eddie Long was arrested on felony gun and drug charges.

Jamal Parris, 24, faces charges of marijuana distribution and possession, and a felony gun charge after a traffic stop Tuesday night in Miami Beach.

Florida Highway Patrol Sgt. Seth Dubinsky pulled over a white BMW Tuesday night in Miami Beach after noticing the vehicle had no license plate and a worn temporary tag, according to the incident report.

Sgt. Dubinsky said when he approached the car, he smelled a “strong and distinct odor of marijuana,” and asked Parris to step out of the car. While searching Parris for weapons, the report said, Parris told the trooper he had a gun inside a bag in the back of the car. Continue Reading…

Police have determined that the fatal car crash that killed Jackass star Ryan Dunn on early Monday morning was the result of reckless drunk driving.

Autopsy and crash scene reports show that Dunn had over twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system and was traveling over 130MPH when his car went off-road and burst into flames, killing both himself and his passenger 30-year-old Zachary Hartwell (pictured above on far right).

Moral of the story is: DON’T DRINK & DRIVE… Innocent people most always end up the victim and its just not worth the price!

Russell Simmons’ Rush Card has been served with a subpoena by the Florida Attorney General’s office who is investigating whether the pre-paid card company is forcing their users into paying hidden fees on every purchase.

Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi through the Economic Crimes Division, is looking into whether Unirush Financial Services, LLC, duped their card owners by promising to help raise their credit score.

First Data Corporation, Green Dot Corporation, Account Now, Inc., Netspend Corporation were also named in the subpoena.
