WESTERN CONFERENCE SEMI FINALS:

The best TEAM in the playoffs is the San Antonio Spurs. Actually, the Spurs have been the best TEAM since post All star break. It would have been a crime if coach Popovich did not win Coach of the Year.

SAN ANTONIO vs L.A. CLIPPERS

Once again, what more can be said about Mr. Duncan and company that hasnt already been said? Mr. Duncan has won titles with three generations of Spurs. I wonder if he can make it FOUR generations of Spurs. Not to mention, is someone going to finally acknowledge that maybe, just maybe Mr. Duncan is one of the best centers of our generation NOT named Shaq and considering how many rings he has, is there a possibility that Tim is actually better than Shaq? MONDAY MORNING QUARTERBACK W/ d.brad

The first round of the 2012 NBA playoffs kicked off with a few of the NBA’s top stars and team looking like walking M.A.S.H units. Probably the two most notable injuries was to Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard due to back surgery and Chicago Bull and possible MVP of the league, Derrick Rose, whose playoffs ended late in game 1 with a torn ACL/MCL.  We also possibly witnessed the end of Baron Davis’ career with a major knee injury as well.

As for the actual games, San Antonio proved that Mr. Duncan, Ginobili and Tony Parker are not quite finished chasing another ring. They swept a young Utah Jazz team 4-0. We can move on, not much to see here folks.

L.A. Lakers and Memphis are in actual “dog” fights. I did not expect the Lakers to have such a tough time with the young Denver Nuggets. Maybe the Lakers wouldn’t be having such a tough time if Andrew Bynum hadn’t declared close out games “easy”. Continue Reading…

Cotto’s left hook vs. Mayweather’s everything

Under normal circumstances I’d say look out for an upset but considering that Floyd is heading straight to jail to serve his time for misdemeanor battery, I’d venture to say “Money” Mayweather is probably as focused as he has ever been.

Miguel Cotto may be just a little too mechanical to withstand Floyd’s constant defensive movement and offensive barrage.  The one key to this fight is, Mayweather had to go up in weight and the last time he did that was when he beat DeLa Hoya at 154 lbs. IF the bigger Cotto can attempt to copy Mayweather’s last opponent Victor Ortiz and use his strength to bully Floyd into the ropes and corners then those power punches and left uppercut of Cotto’s come into play big time.

According to reports, former NFL Pro-Bowl player Junior Seau (43) has died. As of right now, the police are ruling the cause of death as a suicide. Suicide amongst former NFL players is becoming a bit of a sad trend these days. It would be easy to put it on possible steroid use. Yet I do not believe it is that simple, blaming steroids. As I think back on Junior Seau’s career, he was one of the harder hitting linebackers in the NFL, which means, more times than not, he probably caused his own concussions while making those vicious hits. As we all know, football is a violent collision sport, some would liken it to a literal car wreck involving human bodies as opposed to actual cars. We may be missing the true culprit; Brain trauma from repeated blows to the head and concussions.

1) Colts=Andrew Luck qb

15 years ago around this time, Colts chose another quarterback with their #1 pick. He turned out to be pretty good, his name was Peyton Manning. Luck was the obvious choice for the now quarterback starved Colts. Andrew Luck was the most NFL ready quarterback coming out of college this year. He probably would have been chose #1 last year if he had declared early. The Colts can only hope Andrew Luck has half the career Manning had with them. If so, it will probably be another 15 years before we see the Colts pick a quarterback with their #1 pick.

2) RedSkins=Robert Griffen III

What more can we say? There may have been a riot in Washington DC if the Redskins passed on RG3. He’s the truth. Nuf said.

3) Browns=Trent Richardson Rb

1,600 rush yards and 21 touchdowns last year for the Crimson Tide last season and the Browns under head coach Mike Holmgren are in need of a stud running back like Trent Richardson. No brainer here. Continue Reading…
