All Eyes on Newark, New Jersey & Cory Booker – Part 1

Just this past May, the city of Newark, New Jersey swore in its ‘crime fighting’ mayor.

Cory Booker was re-elected as Newark’s mayor, May 12th. Prior to Booker being elected, his campaign promised to make a serious effort to keep Newark’s crime rate down, but that has proven not to be the case. Know why? Because Booker’s chief challenger during the race for mayor, Clifford Minor, was robbed just last week. The former Essex county prosecutor and municipal judge was reportedly approached by three armed men outside of his home. Those men were said to be seen casing the area in the same day before the armed robbery, by Minor’s neighbors.

Back on April 2nd, Mayor Booker announced Newark as homicide-free for a one month period. But the question I must ask is: How safe is Newark if a candidate who was running for the mayor’s seat fell victim to an armed robbery, and the three men responsible for the crime are still on the loose???

I think Cory Booker needs to stop hanging out with Hollywood celebrities like Bill Mahr, Oprah Winfrey, and Gayle King, and stick to his promise to the people of Newark by keeping the crime rate down. But how can he do that when he’s demoting most of his best law enforcement officers?
