I was once in love with hip/hop because it was so different from R’nB – meaning rappers were never begging for love in their songs…
The beats were exciting and the rapper normally had something special to say about himself or the city he lived in…
Once, in the game of hip/hop we all hated the police…ask Dr Dre. We never cared about corny nightclubs ‘cuz they never liked our dress code. We were from the streets and most of us came from government housing raised by a single parent.
We made up our own language – we had our own slang and we all had a crew…In other words we just didn’t give a fuck…did we? Time has changed because hip/hop became what I always hated and do you know what that is? POP MUSIC!!!!
Hip/hop is now in the same lane as R’nB and Pop music so it’s truly boring to me and I don’t believe anything this current MCs have to say. Rappers today are not revolutionary they’re all materialistic and some are of them are even gay…ask Wendy Williams.
The music producers of hip/hop now make happy music so the rapper can talk about a new dance or how bad a chic is…WTF? I remember when hip/hop dudes didn’t give a fuck about radio play…don’t believe me? Ask Chuck D from Public Emeny.
Now these hip/hop cats make songs for the radio and for girls to sing-a-long. It’s simple to see that the hip/hop artist of today has sold out – he’s no different than a R’nB artist. A Jazz musician has more street cred if you ask me!
I no longer listen to hip/hop…know why? ‘Cuz most of it is all bullshit mane…These hip/hop dudes don’t even know how to make a decent album so they all keep waiting for Dr. Dre to release “Detox”…I really don’t care about these hip/hop dudes – they have all disappointed me far too many times. I’m now in my Jimi Hendrix phase and that means I’m on some next level shit. It’s back to bands with a new dress code and guess what? You must be talented to do what I’m about to do because auto-tune and Rock/Metal don’t mix!
BTW: You can also find a sixteen year old celebrating their birthday with a hired rapper as the family entertainment…How gangster is that?

It’s a crying shame. I agree, some of those jazz musicians are tough and play real music from the heart. They work really hard too to get the skills. ‘Mr Gutterman’ by Greg Osby is a perfect example of a jazz player producing real street music.
