LIL WAYNE PREPPING FOR A CHAPTER OF HIS LIFE BEHIND BARS

A scandal between Lil Wayne and a head honcho for the William Morris Agency sparked the Grammy Award winning rap artist to drop the agency.
HSK has learned vice president for William Morris Endeavor Entertainment, Cara Lewis, advised artists including Keisha Cole and T-Pain not to participate in Lil Wayne’s tour, because Lewis says, the rapper is a drug addict.
Apparently, Lil Wayne learned of the back stabbing by the hot shot executive agent from those Lewis tried to turn against the multi platinum selling artist.
Now, Lil Wayne is happy to call the Ujamaa Agency his booking home.
I’m wondering why Lil Wayne doesn’t following in the footsteps of Prince and Trent Reznor, who take their booking into their own hands. Know why? Because, a booking agency isn’t necessary when you’re internationally wanted! This way, the artist ultimately gets more money. Upwards of 20% more, and that’s not chump change for Wayne!
Don’t you agree?

That’s real talk. At the very least you can just hire your own booking agent and pay him a flat rate to be on your payroll. I’m surprised more high profile artist haven’t followed prince and Reznor’s lead.

I’m a producer/promoter and deal w/agents all the time, they serve a valuable function and when they’re experienced veterans they make putting international tours together a simple and successful process. I don’t know if CL was talking schmack about Lil W, if so, not cool. Inexperienced, new agents or artists trying to “do it themselves” or with friends is a freakin’ nightmare, double the emails and phone calls and make mistakes that make everyone else in the process have to take up the slack. Cara has a lot of people who say good things about her, so as always, don’t believe the hype and all rumours at face value. Agents should not talk s*!t about their artists, but if artists are drinkin’, doing white powders, they are high maintenance on the road do stupid shizzz. The music biz is complex, unless you’re in it, you won’t know the layers and scenarios. Enjoy the music. Dj Farfig
