Drake Answers Controversy During New Interview

Drake’s hit record “Best I Ever Had” may have landed him an upcoming court date with Playboy suing the rapper for copyright infringement.
Drake used “Fallin In Love”, a song by Hamilton, Joe Frank and Dennison/Reynold at the beginning of the track “Best I Ever Had”. Now, Playboy is suing Aubrey “Drake” Graham, Cash Money Records and Universal Music Group, and is fighting for an injunction to stop the sales and distribution of the record.
Playboy says Drake and the other defendants to the suit:
“Knew or should have reasonably known, that the sound recording was protected by copyright…” and that “each Defendant continues to infringe upon Plaintiff’s rights in and to the copyrighted sound recording.”
Memphis rapper Kia Shine says he owns 25% of “Best I Ever Had”, and claims to have made a million dollars off the track. But, Drake denies the allegation even though Kia Shine landed a BMI award for his role in creating the contested single. Do I believe Kia Shine got a million dollars off “Best I Ever Had”? No. Is this record causing Drake a lot of drama? Yes. But the single did put him in the game.
Don’t you agree?
