JACKY JASPER BOYCOTTS “LOONEY TUNES”…CITING RACISM

by Jacky Jasper

looney-toons

Like most kids being introduced to the television, my first time sitting in front of the ‘idiot box’ involved taking in the sights and sounds of “Looney Tunes” cartoons. I gotta admit that though the ground-breaking Warner Bros. series gave me lots of laughs, something (even as a kid) didn’t sit right with me when it came to the characters of: Bugs Bunny, Speedy Gonzales and Daffy Duck. Know why? Because it’s no different than 1920′s actors taking to the set with ‘blackface’ mane!

Let’s take a look at the Bugs Bunny character. He’s obviously the main “Looney Tune” of the Klan. And…guess what? He’s not only a white dude, but he’s also a racist…who I might add stands by the 2nd Amendment bill of the right to bear arms. “Do you happen to know what the penalty is for shooting a fricaseeing rabbit without a fricaseeing rabbit license?,” is one of the famous bunny’s fav quotes.

Hmmmmmmm….I wonder who he wants to shoot??? Bugs seems to always be putting himself on a pedestal with comments like, “I wonder what the poor bunnies are doing this season?” Bugs even disses the Mexican-based “Looney Tune” by saying, “OOH! Look at the four-legged airplane!” I guess that’s why the hit cartoon’s creators called the dude Bugs is referring to “Speedy Gonzales”. “¡Andale! ¡Andale! ¡Arriba! ¡Arriba! ¡Yii-hah!,” is usually how the lil’ Hispanic mouse makes his grand entrance. And, while Bugs Bunny is always snacking on a carrot, Speedy is dancing to “La Cucaracha” (killing cockroaches), and drowning himself with Tequila. “No mas tequila! Already muy loaded,” is said to be a fav Speedy line.

Now, let’s move on to Daffy Duck. According to Matthew Hunter (who wrote “A History of Daffy Duck”), it’s a fact that the creators of the black duck sparked Daffy’s character from, “a little inkspot character with the characteristics of a little black boy.” Really??? This forces me to ask the question – Why is it then that Daffy is always being dubbed as a slow type of dude? I mean, he’s always hitting a fucking tree before falling to the ground!!!

To sum it all, I say that “Looney Tunes” is yet another faucet used to embed racism into the subconscious minds of America’s children. I say take the fucking re-runs off the air!!! And parents please don’t buy the DVDs…Won’t you agree?

HA! This is all too hilarious. I love how the author tries to pass off his own misremembering of cartoons he hasn’t seen in 20 years as “facts”. There’s almost more errors than information in this piece. It’s downright hysterical.

If this was a spoof of the types misinformed jackasses you see posting this type of bullshit all over the internet, then I say “well done, sir”. You captured their ignorance perfectly.

But, if you were serious………………… dude, you’re a paranoid idiot. As for your assessment of Daffy Duck, you should read this:

I can school -u- but guys like -u- believe everything -u- were taught in school…you’re a programmed robot, and if u were a person of color u would see racism daily…
You keep racism alive & if -u- had vision, you wouldn’t be writing me such bullshit. But -u- think you’re so smart…you’re like John McCain the whole world is moving too fast for -u- & you’re fat ass can’t keep up.! America was built with blood…murder, racism …& it’s everywhere… it’s in cartoons, movies, games & even your favorite website kkk.com!!!

Haw Haw! You did it again. Another comedic gem.

Your response sounds exactly like the type of black person who blames all of his problems on “whitey” or “the man” instead of his own ignorance. You got it down to a tee, especially the part about referring to everyone who calls you out on your bullshit as “racist” or “Republican”. It’s perfect.

Wait……….. is this Martin Lawrence? Are you trying out a new bit for your act? It’s pretty good so far, but I think you can push it further. Try finding a conspiracy in breakfast cereals, like “did you ever notice that Cocoa Pebbles is just Fruity Pebbles in black-face?” or “Toucan Sam is a smiling Uncle Tom”. Those two are free. You can use them.

    Stay crazy.

Hey “David”, you ain’t no G! It’s my belief that guys like you marry whores before fathering TRICK babies. Plus, you’re fruity like the Pebbles…so please don’t get back to me because you’re no where near my level. I sense a disturbing energy coming from you, and that’s why my spirit doesn’t like you!!!

Anyone with half a brain can sit back and see the racist elements of our sick society…a sickness stemming from Europe. To be sure, if the native American were racist, he wouldn’t have welcome the Europeans. And, what happened to the Native American? I’ll tell you: He lost all his land and witnessed his people be murdered by the Europeans. The same scenario holds true with Africans…If the African were racist, he too wouldn’t have welcomed the Europeans. And, what happened to the African? I’ll tell you. He was en-slaved and raped of his culture, up to this very day! Now, let’s cover the Chinese…If the China man was a racist, he wouldn’t have welcomed the Europeans. And what happened to the Chinese? They turned the Chinese dude into a herion addict, while stole his shit – stuff including Pizza, Venetian blinds, noodles, Ketchup and gunpowder. And what did he do with that gun powder? Dude made a gun!

The same blueprint of European history can be compared to society’s current low income housing genocide plot.

These are the facts. Just because I report the facts, does not in anyway point to me being a racist. Know why? Because I’m not! Only a fool is racist. I can attest to that…The first time a met a KKK follower upclose and personal, I wondered what kind of a man could be so ignorant while sporting a white dress.

Now, I wonder where black and brown racists learned their ignorant thinking from…Could it be from what the racist Europeans showed them? It’s a classic case of cause and effect, dude! Now, please don’t get back to me…YOU FUCKIN TRICK!!!

Dude! Don’t waste your A material on me. Save some surprises for the stand up comedy performance. THEN you can have fun making a fool of yourself with all these conspiracy theories.

Now, you and I both know that noone is trying to deny the racism that has occured in the past. We also know that all this negative “whitey is to blame for everything” talk completely contradicts Dr. King’s philosophy of “don’t judge a man by the colour of his skin but by the content of his character”. And, since we are both rational thinking beings, we both definitely know that the Looney Tunes had absolutely nothing to do with any type of racial indoctrination of children since they were made for adults to be seen in the movie theatres from the 1930′s to the 1960′s.
I know that and you know that, but your freaked-out-of-his-mind Jacky Jasper character doesn’t know that, which makes his ignorance all the more hilarious. He’s sounds like a black Archie Bunker with unearned “street cred”. Brilliance!

Let me know when you get your first HBO special. I’m sure it’ll be great.

Loony Tunes is a racist cartoon, and I don’t care if it was invented in 1930, 1950 or 2010 it’s bad for children! That’s why racism continues in our society, because they feed it to the kids. I betcha you like Tom & Jerry & you’re a fan of the republican Tea Party. I did my research – When the Loony Tune creators came up with the idea of Speedy Gonzales, they had the image of a Mexican in their racist minds. Gone With The Wind is a classic movie too, but it’s a fucking racist movie. And, they gave an Oscar to Hattie McDaniel for playing an obedient black maid in it, but forgot to give the actress who played Scarlett O’Hara an award for being a fucking whore. Now, do me a favor & go fuck yourself buddy…

anyone defending looney tunes on this one is a nut themselves.

as a white man I find this video is offensive on so many levels its so outrageously offensive that I can laugh at it. being in the present where racism is still there but not nearly as socially acceptable as it seems to have been in that era.

Lets thank progressives for that otherwise we’d all still be living under the rules of our forefathers for fathers who bought and sold actual human beings as property.

There is Bigger Problems then cartoons.Like certain rap lables promoting genocied to the community.I have a question for the enlightened…back in the early eighties early ninteies we had different types or styles of rap/hiphop music ie NWA,tribe called quest, brad nubian,DOC, ect…All of it sold and sold well NOW we only have one form I call it genocide rap ppl like Gucci Man that use kids in the hooks of his songs to getkids to buy his trash…The music industry or BIGGER powers are using rap to kill the black community only letting thoughes who are smart enough to see it only entertainment make it in life and the rest are subject to destroy themselves because they are doing what is being taught on record Dope Delin and Gang bangin…Music is VERY powerful and when the goverment buys unites of artist that promote Death to young kids then the record lables can only fall in line and find artists that do the same……

  11. Marbles |

    Mister Jasper:

Your intentions aside, the fact remains that your assesment of Warner Bros. cartoons is ahistorical and factually incorrect.

It’s one thing to call out older cartoons as displaying the ignorance typical of their time. It’s quite another to do so based on misrememberings, faulty interpretations, and outright false assertions. Quite simply, the simplistic analysis of the 1,000 cartoons produced by Warner Bros. between 1930 and 1969 as “racist” doesn’t stand up to factual or historical scrutiny.

People do the same things all the time in psuedo-intellectual, postmodern breakdowns of Walt Disney, viewing his films through the lens of racism, sexism, nationalism, etc. The problem with most of these analyses is that they are written by people without any knowledge of the filmmaking process, the context in which the films were made, and most importantly, the actual artists who made the films. The simplistic labels disintegrate immediately upon any closer look.

You’re absolutely right that there are moments in the old cartoons that are outright offensive. That’s self-evident. They were made by people who, typically for the time, had not been given any incentive to view things from outside their box, so stereotypes and ignorance ruled comedy. But there’s a huge difference between that and an actively, malevolently racist agenda, which did not exist.
(And really—-Daffy Duck representing a black man? I hope you were kidding about that part….)

    [Reply]

    KBC Reply:

Well, Marbles basically said everything I was going to say, except to add: what’s the point of trying to stage a boycott of Looney Tunes reruns when there are in fact no Looney Tunes reruns on the air at this moment?

And most parents don’t buy 50/60/70 year old cartoons to entertain their kids when they have Spongebob and such to watch. The Looney Tunes DVDs all come with disclaimers that they’re unedited and therefore not necessarily intended as modern children’s entertainment.
