Jacky Jasper: From Hittin’ Veins to Hip-Hop Fame

by Jacky Jasper

– Part 1 –

I was recently asked why the songs on my latest album “Deep Fried Memories” promote so much drug use? I told the person who asked me that question to eat shit and die. Know why? Because that person didn’t have a check for me. But, I’ve decided to address that subject to my readers – because I like you guys.

As a teen, I did a lot of dope, and I spent a lot of money on that dope. So, now I figure I might as well make my money back off them drugs. To do that, I put my misery of my drug experiences into my latest songs. At 18-years-old, I did cocaine intravenously for the first time. At the time, I thought it was better than sex.

Me and my crew of boasters would wake up early in the morning to hit the road. We stole everything…from cartons of cigarettes, to perfume, to leather coats, female gear and even home appliances. It was all about a quick sale. We had Miss. Kim (a Korean shop keeper as our fence), and we had Mr. Gindle (a Jewish man who lived in our projects who bought everything in one shot). I was making $500 to $600 a day, but I couldn’t take it home to mama. Know why? Because she would have asked me where the cash came from. Because I didn’t want to face those sort of questions from my mother, partying was the answer to my problems.

We would score our blow from the after hours where the pimps and whores partied at, or from the Colombians, or even from the bikers. We didn’t give a fuck – if you had blow, we were buying. Once we scored the blow, it was easy for me to hit because I have big veins. I would put a whole quarter in a spoon, add some water, mix it with tip of my syringe, bite a piece of my cigarette filter off, place it in the spoon, put the needle on the cig filter before pulling back a 60 unit cc hit and bang away…WOW!!! I would hear my ears ring…hear my own heartbeat…at first, I felt on top of the world, but that would drastically change.

One night, I had so much fucking blow, I decided to do a his and hers (that meant banging in two arms at the same time – 40 CC in each of the syringes). Guess what? I had convolutions mane! I was shaking like a mother fucker. I walked like I had snow shoes on, and my ears heard everything! I was so fucking paranoid. No one was allowed to talk in the room with me. It was the beginning of my paranoia. The fun of doing blow was long gone. I drank liquor like health freaks drink water. I became a teenage alcoholic and junkie. I needed help, but at that time I didn’t think so. I would tell tell you to ask one my junkie buddies Billy Langille, but he’s dead…RIP Billy!!!

To be continued…

No matter what people say, drugs are central to the heart of this game called life, and mixed up with the tragedies, are moments of triumph and brief spells in the sunshine. There’s a romance in the underbelly of society that authors like Iceberg Slim captured perfectly. Rappers have provided us with an invaluable look at street life – ever hear the intro to the Streetz Iz A Mutha by Kurupt?. In fact, musicians have been telling us about the streets since the 30′s. It’s a subject that’ll never grow old.

I been off blow for like 4 years now , except for one time while on parole 2 years ago . I used to bang both coke & dilaudid . Started at 16. I still have these messed up dreams where I’m about to bang a hit and either the rig would be plugged or the shit just disappears then I wake up. Just reading this is making me sweat man.
Never really liked smoking rock , it was never as good. Plus I’d do stupid shit like stuffing the pipe with as much as I could fit in it and take puff after puff till I did the funky chicken.
I never did speed til like a year ago. I’d stay high for 4-5 days straight . Then I ended up in the hospital last January . I didn’t know who I was for like a week after. I didn’t even remember my wife ! Thats when I quit.
The dealer kept coming to my home trying to get me back on it , that’s when I went and did something stupid and took a claw hammer and hit him in the neck with the claw end ! I had him hooked by the neck and kept punching him in the face. He was in his truck at the time by the way. I was holding on to the handle of the hammer with one hand, punching him through the window with the other. He started driving away with me still holding on to the hammer dragging me up the street !
Nothing happened since then , but I know that it don’t mean that nothing will happen in the future.
I hear he lost a lot of friends over that little incident.
I like what you write man. I just found this site like a week or two ago.
