Ask Jacky… “Are We There Yet?”

by Jacky Jasper

Melissa Murphy recently wrote in and asked for my take on a new sitcom produced by Ice Cube “Are We There Yet”:

Dear Jacky:

Did you catch the new hit comedy Are We There Yet?, executive produced by Ice Cube? It also stars Terry Crews, who you may know from Everybody Hates Chris or those really amazing Old Spice commercials. It would be great to hear your thoughts on the show.

I’d encourage you to share your feelings on The Kingston-Persons family with your readers. What do you think about blended families and the challenges they face in everyday life? Has your family reached perfection?

Let me know if you have any questions, thoughts, or ideas. I look forward to hearing from you.

Best,
Melissa Murphy

I’m probably the worst person to ask about this type of programming. Know why? Because I was never a fan of the Cosby Show. But if Terry Crews (from “White Chick) were like a black version of Al Bundy, I might just watch it. “Are We There Yet” is definitely more for a female or family demographic.

Because I’m addicted to the internet, it’s hard to get me in front of a television set to watch anything. But I’m happy to see black actors employed and receiving a paycheck.

I will encourage all my readers to check out this new television sitcom, and to tell me if the show made them laugh.

Thank you,
Jacky

Terry crews is a great in whatever he does.Ice cube is a str8 up legend.Hes the only dude that can make them corny ass kid movies, and still drop harder albums and lyrics than half the rap industry right now.I probably aint gonna watch this sitcom though.I woulda taken a “friday” sitcom anyday though! That shits classic.

Man Cube sold the fuck out with that one.He just put out a gangester album and the shit went double Wood…Because people dont believe Cube anymore..Look at Ice-T playing a cop at least he dont put out gangester music anymore(cause the shit would go triple wood). He is aleast staying in his new lane…Jacky do you think we would see Chuck-D as a politician????..Hell No.. because he cares about his legacy in HipHop..Cube should of been “true to the game”

I think it’s crazy how much the non gangsta rap community gets behind O’shea Jackson! Two weeks ago.. My girl had on the Kathy gifford and hoda show,( can’t remember the name of it), and ice cube was gonna be interviewed next. As they went to a commercial they were playin ” Check yo self”… & there It was on morning chick talkshow the, “shotgun bullets is bad fo yo health”, line right into commercial! I guess they don’t screen those songs first. Too bad it wasn’t the “big dicks in ur ass is bad for your health line”! These are indeed the end of days tho… When gangasta rap, & family programming walk hand in hand right there on your idiot box! What’s next? Is nickelodeon gonna cast the Geto Boys for a new cartoon about sharing?!
