Lakers Forward Ron Artest Urges Sister to Collect Welfare

Ron Artest and his older sister, Latoya Holmes-Ivey remain at the center of a welfare fraud case.
The investigation comes after authorities say the pro-basketball player directed his sister to apply for federal assistance. Holmes-Ivy is reported to have collected up to $34,000 in “taxpayer-supported rent assistance”, after not claiming any income. But, investigators on the case say Artest pays his sister’s monthly bills.
Neighbors of the basketball star’s 36-year-old sister say they’re shocked by the recent news.
“I never understood why she was on assistance because of that, when she told me he was her brother…If you have a brother like that anyway, why do you have to commit fraud or whatever?”
Back in 1999, Artest was part of the Chicago Bulls basketball team. That’s when the forward/shoot guard reportedly signed a five-million dollar contract before applying for a job with Circuit City, in a measly attempt to receive an employee discount. WTF???
Just this past weekend, Artest was spotted forking out over $8,000 in cash at downtown Los Angeles’ “Krazy Jeans” located at 1108 1/2 Santee. The Lakers teammate was accompanied by a pair of bodyguards while he emptied the racks of the clothing store.
This a perfect example of a person who landed a first class ticket out of the ghetto, yet continues to be ‘ghetto’, when they don’t have to. Ron Artest needs to recognize the fact that he’s a millionaire now, needs to get some fucking class and start acting like one…Don’t you agree?
