Ma$e Outs Puffy As Bad Boy Slave Master!

December 19th, 2012

Mase Outs Slave Master Diddy

Almost ‘No Way Out’?

Ma$e is outing Puffy as a man who may like to treat his Bad Boys like slaves. That’s because the former Bad Boy recording artist says not only was he tied to Puffy with an iron clad contract, but he was also expected to work for free!

During a recent interview with MTV’s Sway, Ma$e revealed Puffy wanted him to do the “No Way Out” tour for free — explaining he was replaced by Lil Cease, after quitting his spot over not getting paid.

Here’s what Ma$e had to say:

“I retired once in 1999 but in 2004 I was held under so much paperwork that I couldn’t do anything.

Diddy wanted 50 to give him all of the money he thought I owed him, and I thought he owed ME money… so that was the invisible battle. When I did the tour with Diddy I was doing it for free at first.

Everything in my life there’s been this drastic stand to get paid from it. That whole ‘No Way Out’ tour I was doing it for free. So when I stopped getting paid I stopped going out. So they got Lil Cease to do my parts”

Did Puff Daddy become one of hip hop’s wealthiest figures by refraining from paying his signed artists? Of course! Don’t believe me.. Ask the penny pincher Russell Simmons.

Mase man up! Puffy robbed you the first time, you retired started a church, robbed your parishiners and returned to music. The same man who robbed you in the first place.

Seriously! I’m supposed to care about this sob story? And, did you think 50cent wouldn’t rob you too? Dumb mark, of course he would. Don’t believe me, ask anyone in GUnit!

Wrong. There’s a LOT that can be said about G-Unit Records, but 50 ‘robbing’ his artists isn’t one of them. 50 made sure ALL his artists got paid/ate; even the ones with no album in sight (Olivia, M.O.P., Young Hot Rod, etc.) toured and got paid like they did. Not to mention all G-Unit artists were paid to wear Reebok sneakers due to 50′s sneaker deal with them back in the day.

Now ask yourself why the only person bitching about NOT being paid from the label, Young Buck, not only blew, smoked, & snorted his money (Around 8 million, according to 50 & Sha Money) away, but was given 500k by 50 to help pay his taxes twice (And was admittedly high when he made the aforementioned allegations)? And while you’re at it, ask yourself why, if 50 robbed his artists, then why have none of them besides Buck’s high, confused (Again, HIS words, not mine) ass EVER said so/complained about it? As much as people in Hip-Hop want to see 50′s downfall, we all know they’d jump at the opportunity to have (a) disgruntled former artist(s) clown him in the media. That being said, imagine Puffy giving one of his artists 500k when many of them would’ve been lucky to have been given 500 dollars. No wonder the comedian Maronzio Vance said ‘Puffy is Poison:’

HE PUT OUT HER ALBUM DID’NT PROMOTE HER AND DROPPED HER SHE’S STILL HERE ON EARTH SHE’S KIND OF LIKE AMIL WHEN JIGGA DROPPED HER.

I DOUBT DIDDY EVEN REMEMBERS SIGNING HER SHE SHOULD HAVE TOOK THE CASSIE ROUTE BUT THEN AGAIN SHE WAS’NT LATINA ENOUGH.

    [Reply]

    Raheim Reply:

Damn, I didn’t even know her album was released, especially since the only songs of hers I know of are underground/Mixtape-type joints. I’m also still surprised she was on his ‘The Saga Continues…’ album as if Puffy was actually going to promote her (Though the same thing can be said for Mark Curry, Kain, and all the other artists who were on the album, as well). Too bad. As for Cassie, she’s Latina? I thought she was just Filipino and black.

    DREAM, AND TAMMY, WAS DROPPED.

KELIS WAS GONNA SIGN WITH BAD BOY WHEN HER AND PUFF WAS DATING.

KELLY PRICE ALMOST SIGNED WITH DIDDY.

    Raheim Reply:

Wait, is Tammy the one I’m thinking of that was on that ‘Saga Continues…’ album? As for Kelis, I knew Puffy managed her for a while, but I didn’t know she and Kelly Price were about to sign to him (Talk about dodging a bullet). I guess Kelly figured it’d make sense being that she was, for a time, the go-to background singer for Bad Boy acts. Also, didn’t Dream break up before Puff dropped them?

What happened to all that bragging about first rap cat with an r and b budget? See boys and girls 7 cents a copy aint All its cracked up to be. Stop worshipping these clowns and get an education. A person with a 65 k job will outearn the average rapper in lifetime earnings. True fact.

So true but if parents aren’t raising their kids…they’ll want to be like the dumb celebrities they see on tv. The idiot box (Television) is a powerful illusion. Kids watch these people on there and BELIEVE that’s the way out, or these people are smart, that’s the life etc. Only a few make a real living out of it. Besides the wealthy doesn’t perform they hire performers. Just ask Mase (had to take the $ sign out because he wasn’t getting paid) :)

    PinkKitty Reply:

Punch a clock? What factory are you working at? That is the difference between a job and a career. In a job your options are limited, in a career there are usually more room for growth.

    It’s called lifestyle choices.

I watched a documentary the other day and a man was being interviewed and he stated that he knew his offspring g didn’t have much of a future outside the projects because they were t talented and did t play ball or know how to rap. This man never mentioned education! Not once.

Did we collectively forget that getting an education actually helps and usually makes a difference?

    [Reply]

    Anonymous Reply:

Punching a clock is symbolic for someone who works for someone that doesnt respect their humanity and also symbolic for working somewhere you dont want to be.

And you are right. A job is much different than a career , where you do something you love. But doing something you love is still a soul killer if you are doing it in a place where you know you are working for your open enemy instead of yourself.

And there are all types of education. Not just the formal education where society prepares you to be a drone on someones plantation.

You can get an education to become a flunky in someones corporate setting.

Or you can get an education to do what Bill Gates is doing.

They always try to make it like he is a star maker but diddy dicks all his artists-in one way or another. That is why he can’t get anyone to sign with bad boy now. Mase, danity kane, house of fatty koo, black rob, g-dep all done up by puff financially. And done in musically as well. It was well known that he would steal tracks from his artists and use them for his albums. The only one he never screwed was biggie cuz he knew big would hurt/kill his ass! Now mase is crying about it after all this time? A little late aren’t we? You didn’t bitch then so don’t now. @BLKALIEN AND JANE DOE: what did happen to cheri dennis anyway? If you know please spill cuz i was wondering.

Actually according to Craig Mack in his book about his time with bad boy; diddy was stealing from biggie he said biggie would be selling cd’s out the trunk of his car. I do believe this and I believe this is one of the reason why biggie was kill. I honestly think biggie was going to leave diddy I mean biggie was at the top of the rap game. Let be real biggie was the reason why half of those artist were sign to bad boy.

Sure did. “Going Back to Cali”. Biggie was going to leave to Death Row. Also heard he came to Bad Boy records with goons and bats demanding money weeks before he died. Puffy wasn’t running around with Big when Big came to Cali because he was a punk snake. Also wasn’t there when E40 was gonna do em in. Big was locked in to somethin deeper than he thought.

    [Reply]

    Prinsex Reply:

Yeah Biggie was going to leave be ause he wasn’t getting paid. Being that biggie was basically Bad Boy in itself, Diddy couldn’t afford to lose him. When Biggie died he was dead broke . Diddy paid millions to Big’s family to stop them from coming after all Big was really owed. Big was also about to put out a clothing line and officially start pushing Jr Mafia and his Brooklyn people. Big died before his last album dropped and before Puff put out his solo album which was mostly written for him by Biggie… By then Puffy had collected a bunch of ” artists” but he learned his lesson with Biggie. He never let any artist get enough shine where they could leave him ad cripple him again. He made them sign slave deals and did not pay them for work but they still never had enough power th leave. They eventually fell off the map or was quietly dropped after they had been used to get Diddy more money from the Record company. Now did Diddy kill Biggie? I don’t know but he had nothing to lose in that Big was gonna leave anyway. Plus he ended up capitalizing more off Biggies death than his life… Any way u slice it it’s all bad news…

ALWAYS read all the print of a contract before you sign it and have a lawyer look it over prior to signing. I remember on Making the Band when the members got mad at Sarah for wanting to wait until she had her lawyer look over her contract. They ended up getting screwed and so did Danity Kane. It just common sense to look out for yourself.

Well at the end of the day it seemed Big also got shorthanded. (no pun intended) Thank goodness he was still married to Faith when he passed. It left her in more control.
I blame a lot of the violence 4 gangsta rap from the early 90s, (nwa, easy e, etc)
but i also fault puffy, jay z, lil kim (who was under puffy and bigs guidance) foxy etc. for their imaginary lies and fantasies of projected street and whore wealth.
They were definitely the 1st influential sellouts entering into the new millenium.
I cant stand jay z, but least i know he represents the streets and somewhat genuinely.
Puffys signature was more polished, yet more deceitful making him appear as a hustler instead of a usurper.
Believe me, i was 1 of the fools that bought into it. Smh

I agree with most of what you were saying, but Jay and Kim really were in the streets (And knew each other from the streets before the Industry, according to Jay), so at least some of the shit they rapped about wasn’t ‘imaginary.’ However, yes, their overall music catalog and images WERE and still are negative/damaging.

I can’t feel sorry for anyone who messes with Puffy. His history is well known and for anyone to fall into his trap, than shame on them.

Next, we’ll be hearing stories from that group Dirty Money, who disappeared immediately after he made a few dollars off them and all up in their group. They always looked like they were afraid of him. He would be all ampted up and on 100, while they were acting all spooked.

The moral of the story is to never, ever be that thirsty to sign over your life.

Whoever signed with Puffy only put out ONE album (BIG died before his 2nd one dropped). Anyone who signed with Puffy never stays EVER! BIG made Bad Boy and the only reason they stayed on the map that long was because of BIG’s death, he made TONS of money off of that and he had artists that people were feeling at that time. I wouldn’t even sign with Puffy if I was in a position too. Anyone that signs with him must want to get screwed with their pants on. Just like R. Kelly…no one stays signed to his label as well. Only reason Cassie is still around because she is fucking Puffy period. He’s such a shiesty and arrogant person…smh. KARMA….
