Paul Allen, co-founder of Microsoft, has been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a cancer of the body’s lymphatic system.

Mr. Allen, 56, is no stranger to cancer treatment.  He was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s disease back in 1983, before taking time off from Microsoft to undergo radiation therapy and a bone marrow transplant.  The noted 17th richest man in the country, never returned to Microsoft’s day-to-day operations.

“This is tough news for Paul and the family,” stated Ms. Allen. “Paul is feeling O.K. and remains upbeat. He continues to work and he has no plans to change his role at Vulcan. His health comes first, though, and we’ll be sure that nothing intrudes on that.”

According to the National Cancer Institute, there are 65,980 new case of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, each year.  Of those, 19,500 prove fatal.

We at HSK are very saddened by this news.  Paul is my friend.  (For those of you who don’t know, he’s a great guitar player.) Paul has opened his home to me countless of times.  Dude, has a mountain lift from the house down to the studio. I had the pleasure to see U2 has performed in my mans house! He’s the best host ever, and I truly wish him well. Paul definitely left  his mark on the world.  Now, he has the time to concentrate on him and his family.
