Author Melvin Childs book “Never Would Have Made it: The Rise Of Tyler Perry” is exposing Tyler Perry’s past. Know why? Because author Melvin Childs was a mentor to Tyler Perry before he got rich and famous mane.
Here’s what Melvin Childs had to say:
“This is a behind-the-scenes look at how Tyler Perry became Tyler Perry… These are things I saw, things I did and conversations I had. Everything I am about to say happened. I know it. And Tyler knows it. Time to set the record straight.
Perry did risky deals with drug dealers, couriers carrying large bags of cash across the country, backstabbing and double-dealing with corrupt promoters, plus other illicit means to fund his early work.”
Didn’t Tyler Perry say that he was homeless and that he lived out of the backseat of his car? Of course he did, but Melvin Childs book tells another story and to tell you the truth it sounds like Childs and Perry are having a lovers quarrel. I’d like to know your thoughts on this subject matter.
I have a longtime friend who lives in New York who traveled with Tyler Perry & Co.for as an understudy actor in Perry’s plays, I know for a fact that he would put most of the actors up at Motel 6 and other budget motels while a few select actors and chummy male friends got the royal treatment. My friend is an ex Marine and he often called Perry “mother” he said he felt that Perry was very thin-skinned and was conflicted about relgion and homosexuality.

A lot of (sad to say) African-American run events and shows are run this way. I know this for a fact! Models, actors, dancers, and singers are commonly paid UNDER the industry standard.

He also said Perry was very poor at paying actors the lower you were down the scale and that there was talk of Perry transporting this and that, even bootleg designer clothes!

I always wondered where TP got his start up money from. I don’t see too many banks lending a homeless man a loan to put on a play with a man in drag. I assumed he was turning tricks with rich gay men–but I digress. But isn’t drug money how most “moguls” (esp black ones) get their start? Nothing new here.

Had TP been smart, he would have broke off this guy a nice chunk of change and then issued him a gag order. Dirt doesn’t always stay in the ground. I believe even if he gave Melvin Childs money he would keep coming back for more. He seems greedy for money to even come out with this book. Where is the loyalty? Alot of people do deal drugs but the way I see it if you’re not putting anyone n harms way that has nothing to do with it get your money. If I was poor I would be looking for a come up also. He did what he had to do. If its true tho him not paying actors and staff thats gonna come back to bite u n the ass KARMA!!

Where in the bible do you see that? Or is it a sin because the government says it’s a sin? God put opium, cocaine, and marijuana here for a purpose. Maybe if wasn’t to get high but it has a purpose. You know what wasn’t made by God? Prozac, Paxil, Viagra, methadone, hydrocodone, ridilin, etc. But if the government tells your kid has ADHD or depression I bet you’ll shove whatever they say down his throat.

Yes God does willing forgive and so should we. Forgiveness is mandatory. But, that still doesn’t change the fact that we will reap what we have sowed. What ever we put into the universe will come back to us. IT’S called KARMA!! Nobody escapes it.
A dear friend of mine told me years ago that when she was a child she treated her mother so badly. She said that she is now married, saved and has turned her life around. She said that she had apologized to her mother and asked God for forgiveness. Her mother forgave her and we know that God forgave her.
Now she has a teenage daughter, she said that her daughter is treating her the same way that she treated her mother, by talking back, not going to school, staying out late at night and hanging with the wrong people. KARMA is serious
