This year’s April 2010 issue of Rolling Stone magazine is so full of shit. It’s cover features the world’s biggest group “Black Eyed Peas”. After reading some articles of the issue ( like the “MGMT” story, a band out of Brooklyn, New York which kinda reminds me of the 80′s group “Sly Fox” with a splash of “Prince”.). I found that the article’s writer, Vanessa Grigoriadis was amazed by the band’s lead singer, Andrew VanWyngarden (who took lots of Xtasy and ended up in deep depression).
MGMT is doing nothing new. Their music has been done before…the 80′s, and the lead singer’s gay antics is also nothing new. Just ask David Bowie.
Another article in the issue surrounds the Black Eyed Peas, and the writer of the piece made Will.I.Am seem like some sort of genius. (I must wonder if writer Chris Norris did a background check on Will.I.Am.) If he did, he he’d uncover…like we did…that Will.I.Am. has already settled lawsuits with various writers and producers for stealing songs and is currently going through more law suits for stealing more songs including the group’s hit song”Boom Boom Pow.”

After reading the article about Will.I.Am., I came to the conclusion that Will.I.Am. is simply a white man trapped in a black man’s body. And, dude really believes he’s the shit when in all reality he’s just another nigga slave working for “Jimmy Iovine”.

I love all people for being themselves…DeMarco we live in a insecure world & some people are not happy with their own skin color…
Guy’s like Will.i.am. steal from their own people & give them not payment or credit…
He’s like a slave master & in history our slave master was white…Will.i.am. is a sell-out coon…he looks up to Mc Hammer he said so in the “Rolling Stone” article… I’m sure if Will.i.am. had a chance he’ll dance for chicken too…

You raised an interesting point deMarco. That phrase has circulated for years, ‘white man trapped in a black man’s body’, and I don’t ever remember anyone taking offence to it. I don’t find it offensive, but then again, I’m just a dead man walking.

Right, your explanations above make sense. There’s a nice bit of history inside that small little phrase. This is actually the shit I thrive on. I quoted a phrase you used before, about Trey Songs (haven’t a clue who he is), to a very accomplished guitarist, who knows all about the music industry and the types of people trying to get rich out of it. He thought the description of a guy who’s ‘in it for the honey, and who doesn’t have any money’ was hilarious!
Thanks for imparting the knowledge. Being realistic, no other website is going to teach me this kind of material.
Also, maybe this is a lesson for racism watchdogs, not to go getting their knickers in a twist at the slightest mention of skin colour etc. We’d be deprived of historic phrases such as this one, if we start getting uptight like Lady Gaga’s thong. As long as we all treat each other with a reasonable amount of respect, and don’t subject others to violence, the world will be better.

I guess the phrase “white man in a black mans body”, only bothers me because will I am sucks sooo bad, & I have hated them since they played warped tour eight or so years ago in pittsburgh, sans fergie, claiming to be real hip hop. I usually don’t mind racist jokes or comments, because they don’t affect me or mine, we aren’t on that level. I only took offense as a white guy because we already took the heat for vanilla ice, you guys gotta man up and claim your boy willy. Though Id imagine white people buy all their music and concert tix… Damn it! I guess both black and white people to blame. Wait a minute.. Isn’t there an Asian dude… Shit.. See what I mean? how in the f- BEP went from a good ol’ hip hop group from la county to this pop phenomenon- music (hip hop to say the least) is dead. there is no integrity in the so called music business. I am not sure if anyone knows or heard where the original concept of where “the e.n.d.” originally came from, or rather an original source, from my current understanding, and that is the last song to the pharcydes labcabincalifornia. the pharcyde originally came up with this concept, in the song they specifically mention to “[...]let your soul be free.”
