Sharon Stone Follows in the Filipino Footsteps of Claire Danes

May 24th, 2012

Sharon Stone Hates Filipinos

Sharon Stone and Claire Danes seem to have a lot in common when it comes to all things Filipino.

The “Basic Instinct” actress is facing a lawsuit, brought against her by a Filipino woman who says she once served as Stone’s ‘head nanny’. In the suit, Erlinda Elemen says that Stone would often deride Elemen’s Filipino background, telling Elemen not to speak to the children because she didn’t want them to “talk like you,” making derogatory comments about Filipino food, and making comments “which equated being Filipino with being stupid.”

The lawsuit against Stone comes a little more than a decade after Claire Danes was banned from the Philippines – back in 1998.

You may remember that’s when Danes was in the South Pacific island nation, while she filmed the movie “Brokedown Palace” – this before she made a slew of derogatory remarks about the country, leading its President to condemn the actress publicly.

Anyone care to chime in on this one?

You can’t stereotype any ethnic group. People are individuals.

I’ve been around a lot of Filipinos overseas and in the USA. Filipino food is delicious, their women fall madly in love with their Black American husbands or their White American husbands, and they make such good wives, homemakers, and girlfriends that it’s impossible for an American woman to take an American man away from a Filipina!

Ladies, if you see a crocheted toilet seat cover in a man’s bathroom, leave him alone because a Filipina is in his life and he will never leave her!

Yes, a Filipino wife will help her family move to the USA to escape poverty and despair, wouldn’t you? They love their families and have a strong family bond.

I know an elderly White American lady who has been happily married to a Filipino PhD scientist for decades, and raised a beautiful family of successful children.

I know some Filipino doctors too. It’s ridiculous to judge people based on race. So ignorant!

Brothers beware…They just see you as a meal ticket and if you get with a Filipina, you are going to have to put her whole village through college and pay all their medical bills..

Stick with the sisters…Fake weave and all.

What nonsense are you talking? I’m a black man with a Filipino born/California raised wife. I have never had to put anyone of her family/friends ‘village’ thrugh college or medical bills. I have a masters degree, so does my wife and so does half of her Filipino family (paid for by themselves). I’ve also lived in San Diego with a massive Filipino communtiy. Yes there are alot of aspects of ther culture that I disagree with, but the point u made above is riduculous. If anything it’s the ‘sisters’ who are more groupie-ish and always want, want, want, want from their men and have nothing to offer in return except a big booty.

Stop thinking you are so awesome. I admit my Filipino parents can be racist but its not because you are black it’s because you are dark. There’s a reason why many Asian women where long sleeves and hold umbrellas on bright sunny days; they think fair skin is beautiful skin. There’s a muti million dollar cosmetics branch built on creams and potions to whiten and brighten. As for money, my parents and their siblings worked themselves out of poverty to become doctors, nurses, and engineers so they didn’t have to raise my brother and our cousins in a small little village. My generation are all college educated with scientists, doctors, and dentists. We have never asked money from our significant others because we can pay for ourselves. Perhaps you should evaluate your decisions and ask yourself you allowed yourself to be easily manipulated out of your paycheck. Why do you choose broke bitches that happen to be Filipino. It’s not my people that are screwed up its your brain and penis for choosing the wrong type of person to court. Maybe you should have a list of must haves for your future dating endeavors like a job, separate bank account, and morals.

If God blessed black people with wealth there wouldn’t be no poverty in Africa. If the whole world was envious of the beauty of black people, why is the ‘ultimate combination’ blond hair and blue eyes? I think you’re just taking pride in the fact you are black, but doing so will never change the situation. If you keep putting down other races to make you feel better about your self you will always get “envied”.

The president might be half black, but it doesn’t change the fact that for the most of the economics etc, are ruled by whites. I have little doubt that will ever change, because it’s all about the bloodlines. The powerful ones are always linked to each other in a way.

Blacks, Asians, Latinos are in the minority, whereas White people are definitely not. Why would it be wrong if the minorities came together as one?
Step off your high horse and get through your head that if you put down other minorities, shit will never change. You are not making it any better.

Here’s what she said: “The place just fu-king smelled of cockroaches. There’s no sewage system in Manila, and people have nothing there. People with, like, no arms, no legs, no eyes, no teeth. We shot in a real [psychiatric] hospital, so takes would be interrupted by wailing women — like ‘Cut! Screaming person.’ Rats were everywhere.”
“I had all these defenses up throughout filming, but in the last week I just started to crumble. I was on the phone to Ben at four in the morning and I saw a cockroach on the wall. Then I saw another one crawling toward me, and I just started screaming like a maniac. I was afraid to move. And Ben was like, ‘Just turn on the lights.’ Finally, after half an hour of discussing the situation, I went screaming into the bedroom and turned on every light and ran back panting, ‘I did it, I did it.’ I was so afraid. I was going to have to hotel staff turn the lights on for me, but I braved it. I didn’t sleep the entire night.”

lol. Imagine that–a horse afraid of roaches. I would have flipped the hell out too, though. I can’t take roaches and other creepy crawly shit. Making me itch just reading it. On another note: that bitch know she ain’t seen nobody with no eyes. lol.

Racist people “never” consider themselves as racist – which is why racism is one of the hardest sins of the human race to resolve. Let’s be clear. When you stereotype an ethnic group, you are being racist.

I am of Filipino heritage. I am a PhD qualified, business woman. I am not stupid, desperate for a meal ticket nor am I a slave to any one. The insulting and denigrating comments made here against Filipinos is disgraceful.

Being an African American does not give you the right to make insultings comments against another ethnic group with the full immunity to escape being called a racist. So you know some Filipinos. That is hardly representative of the Filipino people. What if society were to judge all African American males by using OJ Simpson as the benchmark? How awful and insulting would that be to African American men?

Tolerance, compassion, acceptance and understanding should be practiced by everyone. The divide between people will never narrow when people like you feel self justified in behaving like a bunch of uneducated, ill-informed, xenophobes.

I don’t need a lesson in Filipino history nor do I need one in African American history for that matter to recognise injustice, cruelty and oppression. Your eyes only see what your tunnel vision allows you to see.

You discriminate and practice ORGANIZED INSTITUTIONAL RACISM AGAINST BLACK PHILIPINOS WITH THE GOAL OF DENYING THEM NECESSARY RESOURCES AND MAINTAINING A RACIAL HIERARCHY WITH WHITE PHILIPINOS ON TOP….

You never bothered to call me a liar….All you did was gloss over what I said and called me a racist for calling Philipinos racist…

You are the black equivalent of a KKK leader with your determination to hate, yes you hate, Filipinos. Your views are a twisted version straight out of the white supremacy playbook in your hatred of Filipinos (let’s not be a coward and call your views for what it is…hate) and it is also obvious your white masters taught you the system well because you are twisting it to suit your cause.

If you are going to insult us, learn to spell Filipino properly. I mean, we wouldn’t want to expose you as an ignorant, racist, biased extremist, now would we? Hell, no.

You are not being truthful to yourself are you? You have culturally trained yourself to hate non-dark skinned blacks. Your need to preserve your black line is no different to the KKK’s philosophy on the preservation of the aryan race. Your views are a black view of the KKK’s in its intolerance and in your refusal to understand how much your words of hate really hurt others. You think you are right. You think you know it all. But, you know nothing. And you feel nothing but hatred.

Look in the mirror and see yourself as you really are. Evil, cold hearted, rotten. You keep talking about Spanish slave masters. I was born in the USA and am a fourth generation American. I am a slave to noone. So get off your ignorant horse. You think African Americans are the only ones who suffered at the hands of prejudice? You think African Americans are not racist towards Asians or Filipinos? Any Filipino reading this will despise you NOT because of your skin colour but because you, DICE, preach hate and poison. You are so consumed with prejudice and racism, the dictionary for RACIST would have your photo in it as the very personification of what a racist looks like.

I am sick of your racist rants towards Filipinos. NOTE: I don’t hate you. That’s one stereotype eliminated. I don’t dislike you either. I simply disrespect you for the evilness you sprout that you fail to see within yourself.

Filipinos are not culturally trained to hate black people. Filipinos themselves, the majority, are dark skinned. Some even passing for African American – which my father was often mistaken for. I was not raised to hate black skinned people nor were my cousins or relatives. Stop sprouting BULLSHIT to justify your hatred. You obviously don’t have Filipino friends and your outsider observations are clouded by your prejudices that you would continually see wrongs that may not even exist.

So NO. I didn’t gloss over anything. You can’t educate or change the mind of a fool.

That’s why every black man or any man of any race should first know the girl fully well, whether its a Filipina or not. You can’t blame them for searching for someone who can make their lives more comfortable. What Dice said about “opportunistic Filipinas” are true, those kinds truly exists. But you can always find those types from 3rd world countries where poverty is widespread. If you’re a black guy & don’t want to experience those things that Dice said then be on your guard at all times and don’t fall head over heels that fast to a girl, know them well first, test them, anything that will convince you that they’re not just opportunists. If you allow what Dice said to happen to you then there’s nobody else to blame but yourself. Opportunists doesn’t only exist in a particular race, every race has them. It just so happens that in all of Asia, Filipinas are the most caring and most appealing to men from the West, hence, the larger number of men who experienced being ripped off, but its also safe to say that theres also a large number of Western men who are truly happy and in love with a Filipina and who found the right partner being with one. If you don’t want to be victimized, then try looking for a Filipina who actually has a decent education, has a respectable family and nice background. If you see even a hint from them of showing some materialistic tendencies then get out quick before it gets worse for you. It’s just a matter of knowing well the person and her family. If you manage to do that and be convinced enough then you’re good. Another problem with blacks and even any other foreigners who come to the Philippines is that they show attitude like they’re just there to have fun and have sex. If you show enough respect and genuine good intentions then people won’t be much inclined to ripping you off, right? Majority of the Filipinas that DICE says are those who belong to the uneducated ones, the “bar girls”, the “maids” and those who are tired of being poor, so naturally, you won’t get really good attributes from them, right? So once again, if you don’t want to be taken advantage of, then make sure you should know the “girl” well, be alert of “signs” and show respect and good intention from the start.. Just saying.

I guess you met the wrong Filipina brother, and the wrong family, and I sorry she made you feel this way. I was lucky and still lucky to have met and married a Filipina, and yes, I married her family too. The truth is every culture and every race had the good, and the bad. What you met was the bad one based on your description. There are many, many, many Filipinos who are decent, hard working, loyal people, and I wish for you one day that you meet one of them.

That is my impressions of the Philippines, and Filipinos in general. Hard working group of people, loyal, kind, supportive, generous, the Iloconos of them a bit thrifty. If you allow yourself to be used, majority will use you, but that is in every culture. The Filipinos are two types: royalty and servant types. The royalties are hard to get, and trust me they will not marry a black man, neither a white man. They are choosy and culturally driven and they love their race and proud of it. The servant types are the less fortunate. They are still decent and love their culture, but their standard is reflected by their social status, which is a slave (crab) mentality, and they will do mostly anything to improve their life circumstances, even marrying a black man.

    Sincerely,

I personally grew up with Filipinos, many who were married to black military men. i find the younger generation to be much more racially tolerant and would interracially date, w/o a motive, ie a green card. I know of whole families marrying black men to get the states, 5 sisters married black men and were disowned by their father. i find filipinos, west indians, koreans, arabs and africans all to be opportunistic. In my opinion mexicans(esp. illegal aliens) maybe poor but they have morals, they will not cheat, lie and steal and overcharge you for a few coins, actually latinos in general are decent people. As a black american born on the west coast and now living on the east coast, i have had the oppty, to experience many cultures and after being around west indians and africans I appreciate Mexican immigrants even more. I find all peoples of developing nations to be opportunistic but this is generally speaking. There are ALWAYS exceptions as there are some individuals who are not this way. I am filipina who grew up in the inner-city in the east coast in black and puerto rican and dominican neighborhoods so I was the minority. Only white people I interacted with were teachers and Italians doctors and dentists. My family came here because my great aunt married a black military man but she fell in LOVE with him and died with him with many children. Although I was raised in america and was brought up in more of a black inner-city culture, at home I ate mostly Filipino foods and learned Tagalog. My parents are very accepting of all cultures! So there Filipinos out there who are like my family and I. I now relocated to Los Angeles as an adult where I now see the stereotypes of scheming filipinas who jock the shit out of American men so they can pay their way and send money to the philippines for them. This may be a recurring case in LA and sadly I laugh at its sadness but as I said before there are individuals such as myself. I work full time to support my son and my American (Italian, Portuguese, cape verdean) husband does the same. Nobody PAYS my way and I don’t kiss no white ass. Fuck that and everyone here who claims ALL Filipinos are a certain way, you’re an educated fool. Many filipino men may be soft, but i grew up scrappy as hell and nobody disrespects me and my reaction would be to look away LOL yeah right! Many may be a certain way but not ALL are the same. PS I eat a kosher healthy diet so generally speaking Filipino food may be unappealing to many who eat healthy but it is not disgusting when you eat a good cooks food.

I can’t believe this is how people treat each other.. I am a filipina and came across this page cause i was searching about claire danes.. I was surprise by how many people think badly about filipinos and how they stereotype races.. Here in the philippines, i dont think we don’t practice racism. It is not a big issue in here. I dont not like AAs nor worship white people.. We all see people for their actions and personality not by their color. I’ve always dreamed of living in a first world country like US and living a life in a more convenient way. I can do that without lowering my standards and just marry for the green card. It may be harder but its not impossible. Now that i know how racism has much issue with you people. I think i can now say that living here, being middle class/poor here is better than living a good life there and having people constantly judge you by your race and make some kind of stereotypes. Someone said here that all countries has their bad and their good and i believe him. We are all human beings regardless of where we live, what we do and what we look like. And as for people who hate our food. Then don’t eat it.

Successful Black and Filipino couples exist but maybe your hatred an anger blinds you from these examples of healthy relationships that have raised celebrities like Black Eyed Peas member Apl.de.ap, Sharon Leal, Cassie, and Bruno Mars. If you want to be factual, look at California and see that it documents that Filipinos have the largest number of interracial marriages among Asian immigrant subgroups. 21.8% of Filipino Americans are of mixed heritage- second only to Japanese Americans. That’s a lot of multi racial families to be a racist culture.
