Gyant Unplugged first broke the Shawty Xmas eve shooting ….

Now rap music producer Shawty Redd is facing a murder charge after turning himself into Atlanta authorities, Friday morning.

28-year-old Demetrius “Shawty Redd” Stewart’s arrest comes days after a New Year’s day argument turned bloody, at the producer’s Georgia home. That’s where a man physically threatened Stewart, before the producer gathered a gun and shot him. Now, Stewart is accused of fatally shooting 35-year-old Damon Martin.

He’s is being held without bond in the Henry County jail. Stewart is scheduled to sit before a judge for his first court date, January 12th.

This is a clear case of self defense. Damon Martin obviously threatened Shawty Redd’s life. What else is a man suppose to do if his life is in danger, but to defend himself? I’m saddened for Mr. Stewart, because he brought in the New Year in jail. This is a man who created hits like “Sexual Seduction” for Snoop Dogg, “Hypnotize” for Young Jeezy and “Trap House” for Gucci Mane.

I’m hoping Shawty Redd’s attorney can prove this incident was self defense -- beyond a reasonable doubt.
