It totally disgusts me to fall witness to what black music has become. In fact, it’s not really about music anymore. Now, it’s all about which ‘artist’ is cheating on their spouse, who has the latest beef, what he or she was wearing at some awards show, etc. — this leads me to ask: WHERE HAS ALL THE TALENT GONE???

Nowadays, production of what is called ‘music’ has taken a turn for the worst. Now, it’s some guy programming beats, another dude buying it from him…ultimately stamping producer on that track (Sean ‘Puffy’ Combs and Jermaine Dupri are notorious for this method).

The so-called ‘artist’ is some chic who can’t sing (but looks cute) — her vocals are pitched into the right note, because she cannot sing in key. This is the sad reality, and it’s exactly why all of today’s so-called ‘artists’ can’t give a solid live performance to save their lives.

After all is said and done, the consumer continues to purchase this rubbish. What’s worse is the consumer has caught on to the method of the illusion, so they too are now trying to become stars themselves — Can you blame them? (more…)

Alicia Keys, your favorite not mine.

Know why?

Alicia is not hip or funky in anyway. She’s boring. Alicia is cute but this is not a beauty pageant, is it? Didn’t she have to get a nose job too?

Clive Davis discovered Alicia (you must read the book “Hit Man” to really know Clive Davis). I did and guess what? Dude’s a crook. Clive has been granted by some the title “genius” for discovering black talent. In other words Clive has a ear for music.

Fuck Clive, he was lucky for signing Sly Stone ask Sly? He’ll tell you. White people give Clive credit for Janis Joplin, I didn’t black singers were already doing that. Janis did nothing new. Janis is like Eminem, they came on board I never knew they gave out medals for that did you?

19:00 Sunday: CB has turned himself into authorities!

Chris Brown is under investigation for alleged domestic violence felony battery.

“The identity of the victim will not be released,” said Officer April Harding. “Any victim who’s involved in a domestic violence incident is entitled to confidentiality.”

Officer Harding added: “If police locate Brown, yes, he’s subject to arrest.” When police arrived on the scene the victim was there, but Chris Brown wasn’t.

Earlier Saturday night Brown and Rihanna were at the Recording Academy and Clive Davis’s Pre-Grammy Gala in Beverly Hills.

Both Brown and girlfriend Rihanna were scheduled to perform at the Grammys, but this statement was released Sunday evening: “We have just been informed that Rihanna will not be attending tonight’s 51st Annual Grammy Awards. We’re sorry she is unable to join us this evening.”

Around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, the R&B singer and a woman were in a vehicle in L.A. when they became involved in an argument, according to a police statement. After stopping his car, Brown and the woman got out and the argument escalated. The LAPD received a 911 call reporting the disturbance.

When asked about Rihanna’s well being, her rep told People, “Rihanna is well. Thank you for concern and support.”

I choose to look at this final fact. There’s not a lot of road business. A 360 deal with most rappers won’t help your bottom line. Lil Wayne’s the king, but it’s not the domain it used to be.

Based on the hype, you’d think it did 5 million, wouldn’t you?

Most interesting fact? 579,007 of those albums were digital.

3. Kid Rock “Rock N Roll Jesus” 1,712,661

If keeping your album off iTunes generates this anemic total of albums sold, despite a multi-format smash, there’s a bigger problem facing the music business than the iTunes Store.
