Nicki Minaj is getting $30,000 to host parties ,and she doesn’t even have an album out! They are paying artists MORE MONEY than tried and true talents to NOT EVEN PERFORM.
Jersey Shore’s DJ Pauly D, recently turned down $50,000 to walk a bride down the aisle. Know why? Because he said he’s a real DJ, and doesn’t want to come off as a joke! Hey I love the reality show Jersey Shore, but this is outlandish! Pauly D is making more than Grand Master Flash…and Flash pioneered DJ’ing! Some would say it’s because Pauly is in the limelight, but what has he done to prove himself as a DJ to be earning $20,000 a show? Not only that but friends of HSK inquired about booking Pauly for a party they were hosting at the Sundance Film Festival a few weeks ago. Pauly quoted a rate of $7500 which was quickly passed on because it was TOO HIGH for what they deemed Pauly’s value.
Why did Drake perform at the Grammy Awards? Does he have a album out? The answer is NO! Many are saying Drake is Hip/Hop’s savior because he did his thing on mix tapes, but do I buy mix tapes? I do not! And, do I believe the hype? Hell No! Why? Because I’ve heard his song “The Best I Ever Had” this past summer, while I was in the sneaker store on Melrose Ave, and to tell you the truth, I thought it was Kanye West. Lil Wayne is set to perform a final farewell concert at Madison Square Gardens, before beginning a year living behind bars. The rapper is expected to begin his sentence come February 2010.
If you can’t make it to New York for the concert, you’ll still be able to check it out on HBO. Jay Z, Drake and T.I. are among some of the artists who will share the stage with Lil’ Wayne.
