Hat’s off to our friends Steve Longi & David Permut for an exceptional film during a period of films that prove to be much less than that, regardless of the hype.

HSK couldn’t find a bootleg of this film in the downtown alleys for review so we had to go on the inside for this one. Luckily for us the producers for this great little film happen to be regular readers of the site, so they invited us down to the Los Angeles premiere which was at the Chinese theaters last night in Hollywood California.

Jacky is still on vacation so we sent a surrogate to sit in his place and represent the Hollywood Street King. Steve Longi and David Permut are first class guys, they seated us right between funny men John C. Reilly and Garry Shandling.

It’s always a little different when you have knowledge of some of the background on any creative development. The film “Youth in Revolt” is an adaptation of the book written by C.D. Payne and brilliantly adapted to screenplay by newcomer Gustin Nash whose adaptation stood above the tried and true writers also being considered. The film was brilliantly directed by Miguel Arteta who managed to bring out the best of all talent involved! (more…)

In today’s $3 dollar bootleg movie review, I take a closer look at the the latest film featuring Jamie Foxx and Gerrard Butler, in “Law Abiding Citizen”.

I must say that I totally enjoyed “Law Abiding Citizen” – Plus, it only cost me $3 dollars! The quality of the bootleg was good, so it was def worth it. But, if you’re a movie goer, it’s also worth a trip to the theater…that is, if you want to pay $30 bucks including the popcorn and soda or candy. But if you’re smart and savvy , like I am you will take a trip to downtown LA’s shopping hot spot ‘The Alley’ and buy the DVD for only just three-bucks. (more…)
