The Washington Post Scrutinizes Rap Group Public Enemy

It seems that one of the country’s most renowned newspapers is no stranger to bad journalism. That’s because The Washington Post recently ran an article pointing to rap group, Public Enemy as announcing September 11th 2001 was a joke, on their well-known song “911 Is A Joke.”
The real joke is the track used as reference in The Washington Post, was released back in 1990. Editors of the widely respected newspaper caught on to the mistake, and released a correction a week after they ran the story pointing to Chuck D, Flava Flav and Professor Griff as alleged terrorists.
Here’s what they had to say:
“A Nov. 26 article in the District edition of Local Living incorrectly said a Public Enemy song declared 9/11 a joke. The song refers to 911, the emergency phone number.”
This ‘mistake’ is the outcome of having a bunch of out-of-touch journalists working together. The Washington Post obviously has journalists who know nothing of the streets, because if they did, this sort of incident would not have occurred. I could be one-sided and say that they are just looking to pick on black and hip/hop groups, but that’s too easy.
I really think those asshole at the Post should start picking on Donald Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney, George Bush, Rush Limbaugh and any and all other warmongers who can’t stay out of other peoples business and countries. The Washington Post ran a retraction following their mistake, but it goes to show you that their reporters fail to perform proper due diligence before they post a story. It’s because of them, and others like them, that newspapers are becoming a thing of the past…
Don’t you agree?
