T.I. Admits To Being a Junkieby Jacky Jasper
Rapper T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris, has openly admitted to being addicted to prescription pills. The not so shocking revelation happened during an interview T.I. granted to Vibe Magazine’s December issue. That’s when the troubled rapper explained he was first introduced to pain killers oxycontin and hydrocodone after a series of dental surgeries.
Here’s what T.I. had to say about the meds:
“After the pain went away, I kept taking it. I had like five, six prescriptions. So, I had, like 80 pills. Everyone else might drink or smoke a blunt, I took a pain pill. If you rationalize putting yourself in harm’s way, risking your well being, your health, your freedom, your family’s well being and livelihood in order to be high, that’s the rationale of a addict.”
Now, T.I. says he’s sober, adding that the September night of his joint arrest with his wife, Tameka Cottle, is what shook him straight.
Here’s what T.I. said of his wife:
“She went with me to some meetings and counseling. She ain’t got no problems. Her thing is she smokes. Smoking weed is different than taking pain pills. You can smoke weed today and not smoke another blunt for another three months.”
Wait there’s more!!! T.I. now compares himself to people like Malcolm X, Martin Luther King, Muhammad Ali and even Jesus Christ.
Here’s what he had to say:
“They do that to people they know personally. So how can I expect them to treat me, only knowing me through television? They did that to Jesus. They did that to Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, Muhammad Ali. They did it to every great person you could possibly think of. When it was all good, they was with them. When things got bad, but they was against them.”
Here’s what he had to say about going back to jail:
“The person who just was in jail for machine guns and silencers turns his life around. and now you want to crucify him -for what? Three pills. I mean, of course it’s wrong and unacceptable and excusable. But in the grand scheme of things, it’s rather petty.”
This guy T.I. is not the king of the south…he’s the king of bullshit. Dude has a band-aid for every sore, and I believe the only reason why T.I. is drying out is because he’s in jail. The slammer is like a rehabilitation center to guys like T.I. I can’t believe dude has the nerve to compare himself to great men like Martin Luther King, Malcolm X and even the messiah Jesus Christ!!!
I believe T.I. was high when he did this Vibe magazine interview — Don’t you? Dude is so narcissistic that he doesn’t want to believe that his wife is a junkie, like himself. If Tameka would admit that she too has a drug problem (like her husband) they both fear that the state would take their children away because T.I. knows deep down in his heart he could be guilty of bad parenting. The Grammy Award-nominated rapper also seems to believe he’s above the law, believing that he shouldn’t be locked up. So, I don’t expect him to change anytime soon — any person who would blame a trip to the dentist for leading to an ecstasy problem is delusional in my books.
Don’t you agree?
