Whats Really Happened to Hip Hop!

Hip Hop you don’t stop. What a great form of music. I no longer have the same love for Hip Hop as its made a drastic change for the worse.

Remember when rappers didn’t like each other? When it was competitive. It was like the NBA or a Boxing Match there was rivalry.
It was so exciting and the people loved it most rappers built their career on dismantling the opposition. Here’s a few battles you might remember.

  • Jay Z getting at Mob Deep you guys loved it and I notice you guys didn’t call Jay Z a hater you congratulated him on it.
  • Jay attacked Nas you guys didn’t call him a hater once again you loved it and Nas answered back with Ether and you all enjoyed it. Then 50 cent attacked Ja Rule. I remember people laughing their asses off. You didn’t call 50 a hater you agreed with 50 didn’t you?

Then Lil Wayne called himself the greatest rapper alive. I found it entertaining so did you that’s why he became number one. Now 50 Cent is getting at Rick Ross and I ain’t mad at all. Rick started it but it’s Hip Hop it’s not hating. It’s marketing so stop misusing the word hater. It seems like everybody forgot what made them popular. Meaning rappers became fame mongers most started listening to their publicist and people who had nothing to do with the street (record companies).

Keeping it real is slang some of us use in this game we call Hip Hop. Rappers meant it when they said fuck the radio. My my how things have changed. Hip Hop lost being hip and became Pop. You don’t believe me? Then why are some of these rap cats recording with bullshit acts like MIA. Who is she? She can’t even sing these rap dudes are just fucking their credibility off.

Now they all on Obama’s dick. Please leave that to Chuck D and Public Enemy. Stay in your lane. You niggas was killing MF’s on records and you were cooking crack on records. Keep doing that it’s what you do. Leave the political shit for Chuck D. You guys are acting confused.  I am happy just like you all are for our new president but it’s not going to stop the police beatings or hard times in government housing is it?

So we still got the blues and the struggle continues but rappers are coming off rather happy don’t you think so? Hip Hop is poetry from the poor man and most poor people dream a lot and it’s a beautiful thing to hear someones imagination it shows they have hope. A rich black man’s poetry does not count he lives with the oppressor. He can be a part of the problem. Hip Hop is suppose to be revolutionary. The dance stuff is cool it’s a part of Hip Hop. I am not mad at that. It’s the hypocritical rappers that piss me off. They get rich and switch.

Put it this way Steven Spielberg still takes commercial flights. I know, I’ve seen him myself many times in LAX. Why are these rappers acting so bourgeois that they need a private jet to travel? They are not flossin on rich white people when they show their wealth. They are flossin on poor blacks because it’s them the black kids look up too.

Hip Hop became GQ Magazine, MTV Cribs, Award Shows (grammys, american music awards mtv awards clothing lines etc..) Hip Hop lost being hip and became mainstream popular music which is garbage.

Seeing whats happening to Hip Hop I now know what happened to Jazz, Blues and Rock music. It all went mainstream, people actually forgot where it came from. It’s a lesson we all should learn on our climb up the Ladder of $ucce$$

i agree with you. everything is lost in the popular culture. we need a new rebellion to keep reality real, not some bullshit you see on VH-1.
